As the Lead Boiler House Operator/Engineer, this role provides technical leadership and serves as the primary point of communication for operating engineers, maintenance personnel, and site management regarding equipment performance, operational issues, maintenance activities, and facility needs.\nThe position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of high-pressure steam boilers and supporting utility systems while delivering exceptional service to the client. This role requires a hands-on approach to operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment and systems, while supporting continuous improvement, safety compliance, and operational excellence.\nWhat your day-to-day will look like:\nServe as the lead for monitoring the performance of key systems and assets, providing leadership in troubleshooting, resolving issues, and responding to operational needs.\nSupervise the team responsible for the operation and maintenance of multiple building systems, including HVAC, central utility plants, electrical systems, and plumbing.\nOrganize, direct, and oversee daily facilities operations, maintenance activities, and major repair projects.\nDrive continuous improvement through regular review and analysis of operational performance data for systems and assets.\nEnsure all work performed under this position's responsibility complies with JLL and client quality requirements, with particular emphasis on GxP-related activities.\nProvide leadership, technical guidance, and safety oversight to operating and maintenance technicians.\nCommunicate regularly with the JLL Site Manager and participate in scheduled staff meetings and calls.\nCoordinate work activities with vendors, facilities personnel, and service providers to ensure efficient execution with minimal disruption to client operations.\nImplement and manage preventive maintenance programs in accordance with JLL and client standards.\nCoordinate the scheduling, maintenance, and monitoring of HVAC, water, electrical, steam, and utility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation.\nManage performance evaluation and development processes for direct reports.\nReview completed work orders, maintenance logs, forms, and supporting documentation daily to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation within the Lotte CMMS.\nMonitor equipment reliability by inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and adjusting equipment to minimize downtime and service interruptions.\nSupport maintenance planning initiatives utilizing reliability-centered maintenance practices to improve system performance and asset longevity.\nPerform a broad range of installation, maintenance, and repair activities on boilers, HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, and other critical facility infrastructure.\nOversee daily operations and maintenance activities performed by JLL personnel and contractors. Prepare safety permits, lockout/tagout permits, and related documentation while ensuring all work is performed safely and efficiently.\nPerform complex operating procedures necessary to support the safe and reliable operation of high-pressure steam boilers, laboratory utilities, emergency generators, fire pumps, and associated equipment.\nMonitor and maintain water chemistry for boilers, cooling towers, and closed-loop systems, making corrective adjustments as necessary.\nMaintain safe, clean, organized, and audit-ready conditions within the boiler plant, chiller plant, laboratory utility spaces, cooling tower areas, generator rooms, switchgear rooms, air handling equipment rooms, steam stations, and condensate return systems.\nRespond to emergency situations, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and coordinate support from on-duty mechanics or emergency response resources when necessary.\nEnsure all mechanical spaces remain safe, clean, secure, and orderly at all times.\nMaintain strict compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, regulatory, and site-specific standards and procedures.\nPerform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nRequired Qualifications:\nHigh School Diploma or GED.\n1 years of experience on building operations, building automation, system controls, HVAC/R and boilers.\nPesticide Applicators license required.\nProficient computer skills.\nFamiliarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).\nMust have general knowledge of industry maintenance and repair practices\nAbility to work independently and plan work without direct supervision.\nStrong customer service skills are required.\nAbility to solve problems.\nGood organizational and interpersonal skills.\nDemonstrated written and verbal communications skills.\nAble to work independently with limited supervision.\nEffective use of technology and tools including proficiency in Excel and Office (e-mail).\nPreferred Qualifications:\nOperating Engineers license or equivalent.\nUniversal refrigerant certification\nLocation:\nOnsite - East Syracuse, NY.\nWork Shift:\nRotating 12h shift - Full Time + Overtime Based on business needs.\nAt JLL, we are collectively shaping a brighter way - for our clients, ourselves and our fellow employees.
