This position requires hands-on expertise in at least one core trade area, such as electrical, HVAC, piping/plumbing, or central utility plant operations, combined with working knowledge across multiple disciplines to handle a broad range of daily and weekly maintenance assignments. By keeping mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, and life safety systems functioning at peak performance, the Operating Engineer directly supports JLL's commitment to delivering exceptional facility management services and maintaining client satisfaction.\nWhat your day-to-day will look like:\nPerform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs across mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems to keep the facility operating at optimal standards.\nConduct preventative maintenance tasks including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts on HVAC systems and associated equipment.\nReview monthly client service request summaries to identify and resolve recurring operational issues.\nRecord equipment readings and make necessary adjustments to maintain proper system function.\nEvaluate vendor and supplier performance regularly, assessing quality and competitive pricing.\nVerify delivery accuracy for count, pricing, and item description, and monitor the quality and cost of outside contractor work.\nFollow departmental protocols for the safe storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean, safe workplace.\nRequired Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or GED equivalent.\nDemonstrated hands-on experience in at least one core trade area (electrical, HVAC, piping/plumbing, or central utility plant operations).\nAbility to analyze system operations, diagnose malfunctions, and implement corrective actions.\nWorking knowledge of basic computer applications, including Word and Excel.\nAvailability for call-in work and willingness to perform additional duties as assigned.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nTwo years of trade school training in electrical system design, refrigeration, or HVAC.\nCross-functional familiarity with multiple building systems beyond primary trade specialization.\nExperience with inventory control and purchasing processes for maintenance supplies.\nFamiliarity with preventative maintenance scheduling and documentation practices.\nPrior experience working in a client-facing facilities management environment.\nLocation: New Berlin, WI\nWork Shift: 08 Hour Day - 1st Shift/Morning Shift \nThis position does not provide visa sponsorship.
