What This Job Involves
We are seeking a Senior Executive - Legal Counsel to assist our legal team in contract management and compliance for all JLL entities. You will manage legal aspects of company contracts, provide expert guidance on labor-related matters, and support risk management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management & Advisory
- Provide legal guidance on contract-related matters, including interpretation, terms and conditions, risk assessment, and dispute resolution
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts including Engagement Letters, fee letters, leasing agreements, Strategic Consulting agreements, and RFPs
- Draft and negotiate legal documents for India, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh
- Undertake contracting monitoring activities
Labour & Employment Law Advisory
- Provide legal guidance on labour-related issues and employment legislation
- Suggest strategies to address changes in laws, regulations, and employment legislation
- Conduct legal research on labour laws and provide insights on organizational impacts
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on labour matters
Compliance & Risk Management
- Mitigate legal risk by implementing legal strategy and exploring new legal regimes
- Assess compliance incidents and direct non-compliance issues to appropriate functions
- Detect legal risks and contractual liabilities and provide advice on non-compliance issues
- Maintain repository for tracking and reporting legal incidents to management
- Study legal notifications, circulars, and amendments, and advise on applicability
- Review and advice on AI-related clauses in commercial agreements in accordance with regulatory requirements
Stakeholder Management
- Advise stakeholders on legal issues and navigate the evolving compliance landscape
- Support all business lines on legal and contracting matters
- Establish cordial relationships with directors and stakeholders
- Bring efficiency in terms of costs and productivity
Sounds Like You? To Apply You Need:
Education & Experience
- Bachelors/ Master's in Law degree from a recognized institution
- 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in a contracting or advisory role
Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of contracting systems and identifying potential legal risks
- Knowledge of compliance management, data privacy, anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, cybersecurity, workplace harassment, intellectual property, and corporate governance
- Knowledge of Contract Act, Labour laws (including new labour codes), Insolvency Code, Stamp Act, Registration Act, etc.
- Experience in drafting and vetting contracts
- Awareness of AI governance frameworks, emerging AI regulations, and ethical considerations in AI deployment
- Understanding of AI-related contractual provisions including data usage, liability allocation, and intellectual property rights in AI-generated content
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills to analyze and opine on statutory provisions
- Ability to conduct legal research and handle business relationships
- Ability to assess legal and compliance risks associated with AI technologies and automation
- Adaptability to emerging legal frameworks governing AI, machine learning, and generative AI applications
- Willingness to travel within India for official work
