The team's ability to keep shipping reliable automation for our healthcare customers - and to grow together as engineers - flows through your leadership.\nOverview\nWe are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead and grow a team of Software Engineers (SE I, SE II, and Senior level) building intelligent automation solutions for Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) in the healthcare industry. In this role, you will balance hands-on technical leadership with people management within an agile delivery framework, driving the team to deliver reliable, scalable, and compliant automation systems built on Python, Selenium, OpenCV, and Azure. You will own the team's hiring, development, and performance, while partnering closely with operations, clinical, and executive stakeholders to align engineering output with business priorities.\nKey Responsibilities\nPeople Management:Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Software Engineers across SE I, SE II, and Senior levels; conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career-development conversations.\nHiring & Team Building:Own the full hiring lifecycle for engineering roles - sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding - to build a high-performing, collaborative team.\nTechnical Leadership:Maintain sufficient technical depth to guide architectural decisions, participate in design reviews, and ensure the team delivers production-grade Python automation solutions.\nDelivery & Execution:Own team-level delivery commitments; remove blockers, manage priorities, and ensure projects ship on time with the quality and compliance standards the healthcare domain demands.\nCode Review:Perform regular code reviews on team pull requests, providing constructive feedback that reinforces code quality, consistency, and engineering growth; model the review standards expected across the team.\nAgile Delivery:Operate the team on agile principles as the default way of working - leading sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and iterative delivery practices that keep the team aligned, adaptive, and continuously improving.\nEngineering Standards:Establish and continuously improve standards for code quality, testing, documentation, security, and CI/CD practices across the team.\nStakeholder Partnership:Serve as the primary engineering point of contact for operations, clinical, and executive stakeholders; translate business needs into engineering priorities and communicate progress clearly.\nCompliance Oversight:Ensure all team deliverables adhere to HIPAA, HITRUST, and healthcare data security requirements; champion a culture of compliance within the team.\nProcess Improvement:Identify and drive improvements to team workflows, development processes, and automation practices to increase reliability, velocity, and engineering satisfaction.\nCross-Team Collaboration:Coordinate dependencies with other engineering teams and business units; represent the team in planning, roadmap, and prioritization discussions.\nVendor & Tool Evaluation:Evaluate and recommend tools, platforms, and technologies (e.g., Azure services, AI/ML capabilities, RPA tooling) that improve the team's effectiveness and output quality.\nRequirements\nStrong background in Python software development - Jorie is a Python shop; you will need enough hands-on Python depth to review and reason about your team's automation code every day.\nClear understanding of automation, RCM workflows, and the healthcare technology landscape.\nFluency with Git and collaborative development workflows (feature branches, code review, PR discipline).\nDemonstrated experience managing or leading a team of software engineers at multiple seniority levels.\nDeep understanding of healthcare data privacy requirements, including HIPAA and HITRUST.\nProven ability to balance people leadership with delivery accountability in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable navigating ambiguity.\nExceptional communication skills; able to translate between engineering detail and business impact.\n7+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in an engineering management or team-lead role.\nTrack record of growing engineers' skills and careers, including building clear development paths and fostering a culture of continuous learning and feedback.\nExperience owning end-to-end delivery of complex automation or software projects, including scope management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder reporting.\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).\nAbility to engage credibly in technical discussions around Python automation, Selenium, OpenCV, AI/ML tooling, and Azure cloud services.\nSufficient hands-on engineering background to earn the trust of senior engineers and make informed tradeoff decisions on architecture, tooling, and technical debt.\nFamiliarity with EHR / billing systems, healthcare web portals, and revenue cycle management automation.\nExperience with Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Key Vault, App Services, Azure DevOps).\nFamiliarity with logging, alerting, and observability practices.\nMust be legally authorized to work in the USA.
