Our goal is to make Journey the place where you can do the best work of your career and enjoy yourself at the same time.\nJob Intro\nBased in Journey's London studio, a short walk from Old Street tube station, you'll design across a mix of clients and channels, think interactive landing pages, newsletters, data visualisation, social carousels and short-form video, often in six languages at once. Working with a Design Lead and a small, multidisciplinary team of designers, strategists, delivery managers and developers, you'll take briefs from first idea to polished, buildable work.\nHere’s what the work looks like day-to-day:\nBringing designs to life (UI): Designing landing pages, emails, portals, and websites, from wireframe to polished, dev-ready UI.\nLooking after the libraries (design system): Applying and helping to maintain design systems and component libraries in Figma, keeping them tidy as they grow.\nMaking numbers look good (data visualisation): Re-drawing scientific data (graphs, icons, infographics) so they look good whilst being accurate (yes, it's possible!).\nMaking it work globally (localisation): Designing responsive experiences and getting them ready for localisation across multiple markets: different alphabets, text expansion, naming conventions and version control from the start.\nGiving brands a personality (branding): Social graphics, carousels, decks, and brand assets with a distinctive visual language.\nMaking it move (motion and video): Simple animation and short-form video edits (captions, titles, cutdowns) for social and campaigns.\nDesigning for the build (web): Understanding the platform you’re designing for and working with developers so what you design can be built end-to-end.\nWorking with the team (collaboration): You’ll work directly with other designers, programme leads, delivery managers and developers.\nPresenting your work: Leading client design reviews, presenting your work, explaining the why behind every rectangle, and handling the tough questions with confidence.\nSweating the small stuff (QA): Checking your own work before it goes out, taking feedback on board and turning amends around accurately.\nJumping in mid-flight: Picking up live projects, getting up to speed quickly and keeping momentum.\nWhat we’re looking for:\nYou have (preferably) 5+ years’ experience in an agency or studio, working across different clients and formats.\nYour portfolio shows your eye for detail: Real interface screens, posters, videos… We’re particularly interested in how you interpret a brief and represent technical information. Graphs, infographics, data visualisation (things that are easy to make boring but shouldn’t be).\nYou’re at home in Figma. Components, variants, auto-layout, libraries and complex design systems don’t intimidate you; you know how to build and maintain them.\nYou’re comfortable with motion or video (After Effects, Premiere, DaVinci or similar), or keen to grow into it.\nYou understand how the web is built. No development experience needed! Just enough knowledge to understand what’s possible and what’s painful for developers.\nYou’ve worked on localisation before (or you’re keen to learn!).\nYou’re a confident communicator: You can present, explain the why behind your decisions, and keep people in the loop when something’s off track.\nYou take a brief seriously: You apply feedback precisely and still push for better ideas.\nYou’re curious, with minimal ego: You learn from others and care about the best idea.\nYou’re curious about AI tools (like Claude, ChatGPT or Figma’s AI features) and how they can improve your work.\nYour written and spoken English is excellent.\nBonus points if you:\nhave brand or print experience (Adobe CC, Affinity)\nhave worked in pharma or healthcare.\nWe value character as much as capability. Formal design qualifications are nice but not essential. Your portfolio, past experiences and who you are matter more to us than any checklist.
