In this role, you will design, build, and maintain the data pipelines and data warehouse that bring information together from the University's core systems and make it accurate, secure, accessible, and ready for analysis.\nYou will work closely with teams across the University to understand their reporting and data needs and turn those needs into reliable, reusable data solutions. Your work will support everything from everyday operational decisions to strategic planning, compliance and regulatory reporting, accreditation, and institutional analytics.\nThis is an opportunity to play an important role in building a modern, trusted data environment at a growing university focused on healthcare education.\nWhat You'll Do\nData pipelines and integration\nDesign, build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines that load data from the SIS, LMS, CRM, and third-party sources. \nBuild integrations through APIs, flat files and database connections, including scheduled and incremental loads. \nMonitor pipeline runs, set up alerting, and fix failures quickly with documented root-cause notes. \nData warehouse and modeling\nDesign and maintain the University data warehouse using dimensional modeling (star schemas, conformed dimensions, slowly changing dimensions). \nCreate curated, reusable datasets for key areas such as enrollment, retention, course success, financial aid and finance. \nTune SQL Server performance through indexing, partitioning and query optimization. \nData quality, governance and security\nBuild automated data-quality checks and reconcile warehouse figures against source systems. \nApply role-based access, encryption and masking so data use complies with FERPA, GLBA and University policy. \nReporting and analytics support\nDeliver data sources and semantic models for Sigma and help report builders use them well. \nSupply accurate data for state and federal reporting (IPEDS), accreditation and internal dashboards. \nTranslate stakeholder requests into clear requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria. \nPlanning and collaboration\nEvaluate current data systems and recommend improvements in architecture, tooling and process. \nUse version control (Git), code review and change management for all pipeline and database code. \nShare project status, risks and changes with stakeholders and leadership. \nPerform other related duties as assigned. \nWhat We Offer\nAt Joyce, we believe great work starts with an environment where people feel trusted, supported, and connected to a meaningful purpose.\nSelf-directed paid time off \n12 paid holidays \nMedical, dental, and vision insurance \nEmployer-paid short-term and long-term disability coverage \n401(k) retirement plan \nProfessional development opportunities \nContinuing education opportunities \nA mission-driven environment focused on healthcare education and student success \nThe flexibility to work fully remote or in a hybrid arrangement from our Draper, Utah campus \nRequirements\nWhat You'll Bring\nWe welcome candidates who bring a strong technical foundation, curiosity, and a commitment to building data solutions that are useful, reliable, and sustainable. You should be comfortable working independently while also partnering with technical and non-technical colleagues across the University.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, data science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. \n3+ years of experience building and supporting data pipelines or data warehouses in a production environment. \nAdvanced SQL skills, including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning, ideally in Snowflake. \nHands-on experience with at least one ETL tool such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, dbt, or similar. \nWorking knowledge of dimensional data modeling and data warehouse design. \nExperience with at least one scripting language, such as Python or PowerShell, for automation and data processing. \nClear written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues. \nWhat You'll Love About Joyce\nAt Joyce, we believe meaningful work and a great employee experience go hand in hand.
