This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys collaborating with project teams, architects, consultants, and trade partners and who wants to deepen their technical expertise while remaining closely connected to both field and office operations.\nResponsibilities\nSupport the planning, analysis, design, and coordination of structural systems, including foundations, structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and related building components\nPerform structural calculations and analyses for gravity, lateral, and temporary loads in accordance with applicable codes and standards\nDevelop complete structural engineering documents, including plans, details, calculations, and specifications\nReview drawings and specifications for constructability, coordination, and code compliance\nAssist with structural scope development, system selection, connection concepts, and construction sequencing strategies\nCollaborate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Superintendents, architects, and trade partners to resolve design and field issues\nParticipate in coordination meetings with project teams, specialty engineers, trade partners\nReview structural submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and delegated-design documents\nConduct field observations to verify that structural work aligns with drawings, specifications, and design intent\nSupport evaluation of existing structures, temporary conditions, repair solutions, and project closeout documentation\nUphold JP Cullen’s standards for safety, quality, and teamwork on every project\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license in Structural Engineering or equivalent registration in the applicable jurisdiction.\nAbility to obtain and maintain additional state or regional licenses as required.\nAt least 12+ years of progressive engineering experience in structural system design, analysis, and project execution.\nKnowledge of structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, wood, foundations, and lateral-force-resisting systems\nWorking knowledge of applicable building codes, material standards, and structural design requirements\nAbility to read, interpret, and produce construction drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports\nStrong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines\nOrganized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities\nWillingness to work in both office and active jobsite environments\nWhy JP Cullen?\nAt JP Cullen, we specialize in the “Tough Jobs” no one else can do.
