JPMorganChase is the largest bank in the United States by assets and one of the most systemically important financial institutions in the world, with a lineage running back through more than a thousand predecessor firms to the 1799 founding of the Bank of the Manhattan Company. It combines a dominant investment bank and markets business with Chase, the largest retail banking franchise in America, plus commercial banking and asset and wealth management. Headquartered in New York, the group is unusual among banks for the scale of its technology spending, running one of the largest engineering organisations of any financial institution and deploying its own internal AI platform across the firm.

Be at the heart of critical payment and liquidity operations that support the firm’s strength and resilience. Bring your analytical skills and controls mindset to a role where speed, accuracy, and client experience matter every day. You will work with partners across Treasury, operations, and change teams to solve real-world challenges and improve how work gets done. This is an opportunity to grow your expertise while contributing to meaningful outcomes for our clients and communities.

As a Payment Lifecycle Analyst in the Cash Asset Management team, you will support daily cash operations by monitoring intraday liquidity, executing funding activity, managing exceptions, and completing reconciliations in a deadline-driven environment. You will support timely funding decisions and cash forecasting by analyzing line of business inflows and outflows. You will investigate breaks, resolve payment issues, and communicate status and risk clearly to stakeholders. You will contribute to process improvements, testing, and resiliency activities that strengthen controls and service delivery.

Job responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage intraday cash positions across Nostro accounts to ensure adequate liquidity, partnering with Treasury on funding needs.
  • Execute fund transfers between internal and external Nostro accounts in line with controls, guidelines, and cut-off times.
  • Perform daily reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate with internal teams to resolve cash breaks.
  • Monitor clearing queues and payment processing systems to support timely settlement and sustained connectivity.
  • Respond to operational issues by investigating payment delays, unmatched items, or incorrect postings using structured problem-solving.
  • Participate in regression testing and implementation activities for cash-processing enhancements.
  • Support business continuity activities and contribute to automation or process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members and global managers to simplify processes and improve service delivery using data-driven approaches.
  • Assist in managing incidents and issues, providing clear updates to senior managers and engaging relevant contacts.
  • Participate in global strategic initiatives and contribute to an inclusive and positive work culture.
  • Take ownership of issues through resolution, ensuring timely, relevant communication with stakeholders.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and propose solutions under time constraints.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail in time-sensitive, high-volume environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in cash operations, market operations, or liquidity operations within a financial institution.
  • Working knowledge of banking and payment systems and concepts (for example, SWIFT messaging, ISO 20022, real-time gross settlement systems, and reconciliation tools).

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Experience with process automation tools or methods (for example, Alteryx, UiPath, Tableau, Python, or similar).
  • Experience sourcing, analyzing, and visualizing large datasets to drive operational insights.
  • Experience industrializing new processes, including documentation, controls, and handoffs.
  • Developing experience using AI-powered analytics, workflow automation, or intelligent process tools to drive efficiency gains, reduce manual effort, or improve accuracy in operational processes.
