JPMorganChase is the largest bank in the United States by assets and one of the most systemically important financial institutions in the world, with a lineage running back through more than a thousand predecessor firms to the 1799 founding of the Bank of the Manhattan Company. It combines a dominant investment bank and markets business with Chase, the largest retail banking franchise in America, plus commercial banking and asset and wealth management. Headquartered in New York, the group is unusual among banks for the scale of its technology spending, running one of the largest engineering organisations of any financial institution and deploying its own internal AI platform across the firm.

This is real strategy work. You’ll spend your days gathering user and stakeholder input, conducting market and industry research, analyzing data, developing recommendations, and producing materials that inform product leader decisions. You’ll work side by side with product, data, and technology colleagues, own a well-scoped workstream on every engagement, and grow fast through an apprenticeship-style team model with hands-on coaching and feedback from experienced strategists who are invested in your development.

As a Product Strategy Associate, you’ll join a small, high-caliber team tackling some of the most interesting strategic questions facing two product organizations focused on how JPMorganChase colleagues experience work every day. No two engagements look the same. One week you might be pressure-testing how AI can reshape a product’s roadmap. The next, you might be helping size an investment case, benchmarking against industry leaders, or gathering colleague feedback that helps shape how a product evolves.

The role supports two connected product organizations:

  • The Chief Administrative Office (CAO) is comprised of several global Corporate Services functions that support JPMorganChase’s businesses and employees across 60 countries. Its product portfolio spans Security, Amenities, Real Estate, and Supplier Services, and its Product Office defines and delivers the CAO’s product strategy.
  • Workplace Technology, which sits within Employee Platforms (EP). EP enables, modernizes, and enhances the productivity and experience of nearly 300,000 global colleagues, with a strategy focused on delivering a more personalized, frictionless, and seamless employee experience in a rapidly evolving environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Own a well-scoped workstream within a broader product strategy engagement, contributing to work that helps bridge strategy and execution for the product organizations we support, from problem framing through recommendation and handoff.
  • Contribute to team problem-solving by developing hypotheses, gathering and analyzing data, and pressure-testing ideas with team members, product managers, and cross-functional partners.
  • Support the gathering of user and stakeholder input by helping guide interviews, working sessions, and listening posts with colleagues, end users, product managers, and cross-functional partners - synthesizing takeaways into insights that inform team recommendations on product direction and roadmaps.
  • Conduct market, competitive, and industry research (including trends in AI, automation, data analytics, employee experience, and workplace technology) to benchmark product performance and inform product strategy, roadmap, and investment discussions.
  • Support the development of business cases, proposals, and capacity models that inform prioritization and resource allocation across the products we support.
  • Produce presentation materials, analyses, and briefings that summarize research and analysis into clear recommendations to inform product leader decisions on strategy, roadmap, and prioritization.
  • Work closely with product, data, and technology colleagues to develop and refine recommended solutions and support their execution.
  • Apply AI and modern analytical tools to gather data, generate insights, and produce reporting on product performance, delivery health, and key performance indicators to support evidence-based recommendations.
  • Manage workstream deadlines, deliverables, and dependencies, proactively escalating risks and issues as needed to keep engagements on track.
  • Be receptive to coaching and feedback in an apprenticeship-style team model, and collaborate effectively with project leaders, analysts, and fellow associates.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience at a top-tier management consulting firm, internal consulting organization, corporate strategy team, or comparable strategy role
  • Strong, structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down ambiguous problems, form hypotheses, and develop fact-based recommendations under tight timelines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adjust style to different audiences and seniority levels and to prepare clear, well-structured presentations, materials, and briefings for senior audiences
  • A self-starter mindset with strong organizational skills - able to plan, prioritize, manage time, and manage deliverables to completion, escalating and seeking help where needed
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working across teams - a collaborative team player who builds effective relationships with cross-functional partners and welcomes coaching and feedback
  • Working knowledge of product management fundamentals, including product discovery, roadmapping, prioritization frameworks, and the product development lifecycle
  • Hands-on proficiency with data and analytics tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, Tableau, or Power BI) to gather, model, and synthesize data, test hypotheses, and inform product and strategic decisions
  • AI literacy, with familiarity with how GenAI, LLMs, and emerging AI capabilities can be applied to improve products, operations, and decision-making

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Prior exposure to financial services or another large, regulated industry
  • Experience developing business cases, operating models, or transformation plans for product, technology, or operations organizations
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and how technology products are built, tested, and delivered
