You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.\nJob Responsibilities\nWork alongside a team of technologists to develop and deploy applications that meet business and functional requirements.\nContribute to the design and implementation of microservices in Java, applying streaming, non-blocking, and reactive programming techniques under the guidance of senior team members.\nUse technologies such as Kafka, IBM MQ, Kubernetes (K8s), Redis cache, MSK, and AWS to build and maintain scalable services.\nSupport the team's adoption of domain-driven design principles and take part in architectural discussions.\nAssist in producing technical documentation, including service APIs using Swagger, and help implement logging, auditability, security, and monitoring features.\nTake part in API design sessions and help evaluate design patterns proposed by the team.\nWrite test cases using TDD/BDD approaches and participate in code review sessions, both as a reviewer and reviewee.\nHelp validate the scalability of services using mock testing frameworks and other tools.\nLeverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.\nApplies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.\nRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skills\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.\nWorking knowledge of Java programming, with a self-assessed proficiency of 5 out of 10 or higher, and a willingness to engage in hands-on coding.\nFormal Training and certification on software engineering and 3+ years of applied experience \nExposure to distributed architecture systems involving large data volumes or real-time distribution.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD, DevOps tool chains, and a test-driven approach to agile delivery.\nExposure to middle-tier data caching solutions (e.g., Redis, Gemfire, Apache Ignite) and/or messaging-based solutions (e.g., Kafka, IBM MQ) is a plus.\nUnderstanding of modern architectures based on microservices, REST APIs, databases, SQL, non-SQL stores, and event-based architecture.\nHands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.\nUnderstanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations;
