JPMorganChase is the largest bank in the United States by assets and one of the most systemically important financial institutions in the world, with a lineage running back through more than a thousand predecessor firms to the 1799 founding of the Bank of the Manhattan Company. It combines a dominant investment bank and markets business with Chase, the largest retail banking franchise in America, plus commercial banking and asset and wealth management. Job Description

Join our team as a VP, Commercial Card & Prepaid Card Fraud Strategy Manager, where you will lead fraud risk management strategies that protect the firm while delivering an exceptional client experience.

As part of the Commercial & Investment Banking Payments Operations organization, you will lead a team responsible for fraud strategy across Commercial Card and Prepaid Card portfolios. You will identify emerging fraud trends, develop and optimize fraud detection strategies, and partner across Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, and external stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions that balance fraud prevention, customer experience, and operational efficiency.

This role is ideal for a strategic leader who combines strong analytical skills, business acumen, and stakeholder management expertise to drive measurable business outcomes in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Own fraud detection performance for assigned portfolios, balancing fraud losses, client experience, operational efficiency, and business objectives within established risk and performance thresholds.

  • Lead and develop a team of fraud strategy analysts by setting priorities, managing capacity, coaching performance, and supporting career development.
  • Identify emerging fraud trends through quantitative and qualitative analysis; develop, optimize, and monitor fraud detection strategies and rules to mitigate risk.
  • Evaluate strategy, rule, and control effectiveness, providing data-driven recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

  • Partner across Product, Technology, Operations and Data Science to design, implement, and enhance fraud prevention capabilities and monitoring coverage.
  • Lead end-to-end strategy implementation, including business requirements, testing, release management, performance monitoring, and post-implementation validation.

  • Drive continuous improvement through process optimization, root-cause analysis, governance enhancements, and control standardization.

  • Represent the business in cross-functional forums with Card Operations, Claims, Collections, card networks, and external partners; provide executive-ready insights, recommendations, and updates to senior leadership.

  • Lead multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously, ensuring effective prioritization, execution, and delivery against business objectives and stakeholder expectations.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in fraud strategy, analytics, product management, risk management, or related functions supporting financial services, payments, or operations.

  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing analytical teams, including performance management, workforce planning, coaching, and talent development.

  • Strong business acumen and technical expertise with the ability to challenge assumptions, evaluate operating models, and influence strategic decision-making through data-driven insights.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends and opportunities, solve business problems, and translate findings into actionable recommendations and compelling executive-level narratives.

  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills, with a structured approach to delivering complex initiatives under tight timelines across cross-functional teams; hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and JIRA for backlog management, reporting, and delivery tracking.

  • Experience with business process modeling, governance, and control frameworks, as well as data architecture concepts including ETL processes, relational databases, and large-scale data environments.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.

  • Advanced analytical and technical skills, including hands-on experience with SQL and business intelligence/analytics platforms such as Tableau, Qlik, Alteryx, Python, R, or SAS.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related discipline.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience designing and optimizing fraud detection strategies, anomaly detection solutions, and fraud risk controls within commercial banking or payments environments.

  • Knowledge of Commercial Card, Prepaid Card, and broader payment ecosystems, including card processors, networks, fraud controls, and dispute/chargeback processes.

  • Experience working with card processors and fraud platforms such as TSYS, VCAS, Fiserv, MPTS, or similar solutions.

  • Experience managing relationships with card networks, including governance, performance management, and fraud risk initiatives.

  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and partnering with data science teams on feature design, model development and performance management.

  • Outcome-oriented leader with a collaborative management style, strong ownership mindset, and demonstrated success operating within complex, matrixed organizations.
