As an AEGIS Based Defense Software Engineer, you'll work alongside elite engineers, scientists, Naval officers, and defense professionals to develop next-generation missile defense capabilities that directly support the Fleet.\nThis role offers the opportunity to lead complex software initiatives spanning guidance, navigation, control systems, flight testing, system integration, and software real-world operations, this is a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on national security.\nWhat You'll Do\nAddress emerging Next Generation Missile Defense threats and capabilities, significant upgrades are required for the SM-6 software; these software upgrades encompass advanced targeting algorithms, enhanced flight profile optimizations for engaging advanced threats, and upgraded datalink processing to ensure seamless fire control integration.\nSupport the SM-6 Round Lead, in design, development, testing, and integration of software for the missile and its incorporation into the Aegis Under Layer while retaining compatibility with the ship-based Aegis Weapon System & land-based Aegis Guam System.\n Oversee the design, development, and implementation of software solutions for missile guidance, navigation, and control systems including the upgrade of missile guidance laws, feedback control logic, six-degree-of-freedom (6DOF) flight simulations, and real-time sensor data processing.\nContribute to software architecture design, requirements analysis, detailed design, and code reviews.\nSupport Aegis Under Layer, Aegis Weapon System, and Aegis Guam System integration & testing activities.\nParticipate in flight tests and data analysis.\nManage technical meetings and design reviews for software activities, including MDA Engineering Technical Reviews.\nOversee the progress of development sprints and managing backlogs.\nDefine long-term technical strategies and architectural roadmaps.\nSupport the analysis of Real Word Events and observations that lead to required software changes / updates.\nWhat You Bring to the Table\nUS Citizenship with Active DoW Secret Clearance\nBachelor's Degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical/scientific discipline degree related to area of specialty\n5+ years of related professional experience\nMastery of MS Office suite and familiarity with collaborative tools such as Jira, Confluence or Teams\nMissile System Experience\n⭐Bonus Points\nBachelor’s Degree in STEM Field\n7+ Years experience\nActive TS/SCI Clearance\nPrior experience with Weapons Systems
