In this mission-critical role, you will work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to assess utility infrastructure supporting Department of Defense installations and facilities.\nAs a Utilities Engineer, you will conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments of critical utility systems-including electrical distribution, prime power, water, wastewater, HVAC, and supporting infrastructure-to identify operational risks, evaluate mission impacts, and develop recommendations that strengthen installation resilience and mission assurance.\nThis position offers the opportunity to directly support national security by helping ensure the survivability and operational readiness of critical defense infrastructure worldwide.\nWhat You'll Do\nConduct on-site assessments of utility infrastructure at DoD installations.\nEvaluate electrical distribution, prime power, water, wastewater, HVAC, mechanical, and emergency power systems.\nIdentify system vulnerabilities, reliability concerns, redundancy gaps, and mission risks.\nDevelop recommendations to improve infrastructure resilience and operational availability.\nAssess preventive and predictive maintenance programs and lifecycle replacement needs.\nReview engineering drawings, specifications, facility documentation, and construction plans.\nSupport facility sustainment, modernization, recapitalization, and capital improvement initiatives.\nEvaluate compliance with UFC, OSHA, NFPA, environmental regulations, DoD standards, and other applicable requirements.\nCoordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, security teams, installation leadership, and government stakeholders.\nPrepare technical reports and present findings and recommendations to government leadership.\nWhat You Bring to the Table\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, Marine Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\n5+ years of utility engineering, facility infrastructure, system operations, preventive maintenance, or prime power experience in military, government, industrial, or large commercial environments.\nOperational experience with the U.S. Navy Nuclear Power Program, U.S. Army Prime Power Program, or similar utility engineering environment highly preferred.\nActive Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI eligibility.\nExperience conducting utility infrastructure assessments or facility engineering evaluations.\nKnowledge of electrical distribution, prime power, water/wastewater systems, HVAC, critical infrastructure protection, utility lifecycle planning, engineering standards, safety, and environmental compliance.\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.\nExperience supporting facility modernization, sustainment, and capital improvement programs.\nStrong analytical, technical writing, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a mission-focused environment.\n⭐ Bonus Points\nMaster’s degree in a related engineering discipline.\nDTRA or other DoD mission-assurance experience.\nExperience with Facility Condition Assessments, Critical Infrastructure Protection, or utility resilience planning.\nProfessional Engineer (PE), OSHA 30, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or related facility/engineering credentials.\nExperience
