Guided by integrity, teamwork, continuous improvement, and genuine care for our people, JRM provides an environment where employees can grow and help shape the company’s long-term success.\nJob Summary\nThe Assistant Project Manager (APM) is a core team member responsible for managing project change orders, subcontractor coordination, and project documentation with a high level of independence and accountability. The APM understands the financial, administrative, and logistical elements of construction and supports both internal teams and client-facing communications.\nResponsibilities and Duties\nLead the preparation of Change Orders from inception to PO issuance, including detailed pricing review and subcontractor negotiation.\nFully level subcontractor proposals and scopes of work, flagging any discrepancies or risks.\nManage procurement timelines and coordination of long-lead items.\nMaintain ownership of the project submittal log and escalation of critical items.\nUnderstand, update, and track Schedule of Events (SOE) and project milestones.\nWork directly with the Superintendent to establish the Subcontractor Build Schedule.\nTake lead on the project financial close-out process, including reconciliation of POs, billing, and retention.\nProactively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including leading subcontractor meetings when needed.\nIdentify and escalate potential scope or financial risks; contribute to resolution strategies.\nMentor and support Project Engineers and Project Coordinators.\nQualifications and Skills\nProficient to advanced knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and project logistics.\nSolid understanding of subcontract scopes, sequencing, and project budget impacts.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, Procore, MS Project; working knowledge of Timberline.\nDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and lead through challenges.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and detail level to audience.\nAdheres to and exemplifies JRM’s Core Values.\nComputer Systems\nMicrosoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Timberline (preferred but not required), On-Screen Takeoff (preferred but not required)\nSalary Information\nTo the extent this position is performed in California, the annual salary range for this role is $90,000 - $120,000.\nAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment at JRM without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or other characteristics protected by law. \nThe salary range listed in job postings reflects the Company’s good-faith estimate at the time of posting.
