Apply now!\nLearn more: jti.com\nDepartment: Data Activation\nLocation: Milan, Italy\nIT Data & Analytics Manager\n\nPosition purpose:\nThe Data & Analytics Manager is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the analytical data foundation that enables reliable market reporting, analytics, and business applications.\nThe role consumes governed enterprise data assets, including the Global Analytics Model (GAM) and Central Data Lake Platform (CDLP), and integrates them with local market systems and external data sources. It designs and operates scalable ETL/ELT processes, transformation logic, and data pipelines, and develops enterprise-grade Power BI semantic models with reusable business logic, measures, and security.\nWorking closely with market stakeholders and D&A team , the role ensures that global and local data assets are reconciled, documented, performant, and fit for business use. It also provides technical guidance, supports complex analytical investigations, and acts as the primary escalation point for analytical data and semantic-model issues in the market.\nWhat will you do - responsibilities:\nData Integration & Engineering :\nIntegrate data from global and local sources, including GAM, CDLP, market systems, and external providers\nDevelop and maintain robust ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and transformation logic\nOptimize data ingestion, orchestration, refresh performance, monitoring, and recoverability\nPower BI Semantic Modeling:\nDesign and maintain enterprise-grade Power BI semantic models and reusable datasets\nBuild scalable star schemas, relationships, hierarchies, measures, and business logic using DAX and Power Query\nOptimize model size, query performance, refresh behavior, usability, and maintainability\nData Quality & Governance:\nEnsure consistency and traceability between global and local data assets\nDefine automated validation, reconciliation, monitoring, and exception-management controls\nMaintain metadata, lineage, data dictionaries, technical documentation, and governance evidence\nTechnical Advisory & Stakeholder Support :\nProvide technical guidance to market business functions and analytics users\nTranslate complex analytical use cases into sound data and semantic-model solutions\nSupport data investigations and act as the primary escalation point for analytical data and model issues\nSecurity, Standards & Lifecycle Management:\nApply access controls, row-level security, privacy, governance, and enterprise architecture standards\nManage testing, deployment, change control, versioning, and lifecycle activities for pipelines and semantic models\nPromote reusable engineering patterns and continuous improvement\nWho are we looking for - requirements :\nAny o f these options:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field\n• Master’s degree in Data Science, Applied Math or a related technical discipline\n\n8+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, business intelligence, data warehousing, or analytical data-model development\nProven experience integrating enterprise and local data sources and developing production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines\nAdvanced experience designing scalable Power BI semantic models, including star schemas, reusable datasets, measures, calculation logic, and row-level security\nStrong experience with SQL, DAX, Power Query (M), data-lake architectures, and performance optimization\nPractical experience with Azure Data Services or Microsoft Fabric and Databricks\nExperience implementing data-quality controls, reconciliation processes, metadata, lineage, and technical documentation\nExperience troubleshooting complex data and model issues and working with cross-functional enterprise and market teams\nExperience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Python is an advantage.\nRecruitment process:\nThank you very much for your interest in the role.
