Apply now!\nLearn more: jti.com\nPlanning and Purchasing Specialist (Danville, VA)\nPosition:\nAs a Planning and Purchasing Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring materials are available when needed to support efficient and uninterrupted manufacturing operations.\nYou will coordinate materials planning and purchasing activities, manage short- and long-term Material Requirements Planning (MRP), optimize inventory levels, collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams, and support new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.\nResponsibilities:\nMaterials Planning & Inventory Management:Manage short-, mid-, and long-term material requirements for tobacco and non-tobacco materials, considering demand, specifications, inventory targets, sourcing, lead times, and shelf life. Optimize inventory levels and minimize material write-offs. \nPurchasing & Delivery Coordination:Manage purchase orders, supplier confirmations, delivery follow-up, and purchasing data in SAP. Support timely material availability, accurate shipping documentation, and resolution of invoice and goods receipt issues.\nSupplier & Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with suppliers and internal teams, including Planning, R&D, Global Procurement, GBS, Finance, Quality, Production, and Warehouse, to resolve supply and purchasing issues and support smooth operations.\nNew Product Launches & Projects:Coordinate material readiness for new launches, factory tests, and global and local material projects. Identify opportunities for cost optimization and improved inventory management.\nQuality & Supplier Management:Coordinate the resolution of defective materials with suppliers, follow up on corrective and preventive actions, and arrange supplier technical support when required. \nSystems, Continuous Improvement & Compliance:Maintain accurate SAP material master data, support monthly planning activities in IBP, continuously improve processes, and ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, company, and regulatory requirements. \nRequirements:\nUniversity degree, preferably in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.\nAt least 2 years of experiencein a planning or procurement function; cross-functional experience is an advantage.\nFluent English, both written and spoken.\nStrong communication and organizational skills.\nFlexible and able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.\nStrong Microsoft Office skills, including advanced Excel.\nSAP system knowledge.\nWhat We Offer:\nAt JTI, our culture is built around collaboration, accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
