Let’s shape the future of wealth management together.\nJoin Julius Baer as Application Responsible for the Software Engineering team which is a part of PTSG.This role is a hands-on technology position responsible for resolving highly complex legacy system defects and delivering robust, scalable Java-based solutions using modern frameworks and enterprise-grade technologies.\nYou will act as a technical influencer, driving engineering excellence across teams while ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory standards, and the Bank’s commitment to secure and reliable IT delivery.\nYOUR CHALLENGE\nFunctional / Technical\nTackle very complex legacy defects that mediocre developers cannot analyse/solve.\n\nCommunicate highly technical issues to non-technical audience.\n\nBe an influencer and uplift engineering practices of existing developers.\n\nEarn good reputation of being technically strong in the organization by help solving problems others struggle.\n\nDevelopment and delivery with Java, EJB, Spring Boot, Oracle and Kafka streaming.\n\nUnderstand business / system requirements and translate them into technical solutions that are scalable, stable and fit for purpose.\n\nEnsure adherence to the bank standards (including code, security and performance).\n\nThe role provides exposures to Wealth Management systems (Triple’A Plus, E-Assets).\n\nPassionate about technologies and building robust and scalable Java Systems.\n\nAnalysis, design coding, and implementation of complex and custom-built applications.\n\nWork collaboratively with team to achieve goals. Experience working in Agile methodologies, such as Scrum, and/or Extreme programming.\n\nExperience in following in following best practices like Test-Driven Development (TDD) and continuous Integration (CI).\n\nInvestigate and resolve production issues to help maintain a stable production environment; remain cool and effective in crisis.\n\nClient / Stakeholder Management (internal & external)\nStake holder management - working closely with finance, business change engineers, and project managers to drive and manage IT delivery.\n\nAnalyse requirements, estimate efforts, plan timeline, manage progress.\n\nEnsure awareness, involvement and support from the key stakeholders and participants by building strong project teams and maintaining robust communication on the project status throughout its life cycle.\n\nDrive and review technical and architectural design, enforce architectural guidelines and challenge status quo.\n\nRegulatory Responsibilities &/OR Risk Management\nDemonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.\n\nTake responsibility for ensuring that risks and issues are identified and managed closely and drive all stakeholders to deliver on time and to the required quality standards.\n\nYOUR PROFILE\nProfessional\nMinimum 10 years of development experience in Core Java and Java EE.\nMinimum 3 years of financial domain.\nMinimum 2 years’ experience following TDD.\nWell organized and ability to prioritise and carry out multiple tasks Able to influence and drive projects to meet key milestones and overcome challenges.\nAble to translate functional requirements to efficient and fit-for-purpose technical solutions.\nPreferably, have experience in finance/banking domain.\nTechnical\nMust Have:\nCore Java 8+ and JUnit.\nStrong computer science knowledge (algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design).\nTDD. Able to write acceptance test.\nMaven\nBasic Linux shell scripting commands\nJava Messaging Concepts.
