In this role, you will provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on in the development of a large-scale Java/Jakarta EE platform running on JBoss EAP, with a primary focus on backend services, integrations, platform reliability, and release management.You will lead the technical direction of the backend domain, collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, QA, Frontend, and Operations teams, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong backend expertise with excellent communication skills, a pragmatic mindset, and a passion for mentoring engineers while driving technical excellence.\nYOUR CHALLENGE\nLead the design, development, and maintenance of Java 21 / Jakarta EE backend applications deployed on JBoss EAP 8.\nDesign scalable, maintainable, and reliable software solutions aligned with business and architectural requirements.\nDrive technical decisions around REST APIs, SOAP integrations, messaging, persistence, and application architecture.\nCollaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.\nOwn and coordinate application releases, deployments, environment readiness, and production rollout activities.\nMentor and support engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and coaching.\nPromote engineering best practices, coding standards, architecture governance, and continuous improvement.\nLead development of integrations using REST, SOAP, JMS, and messaging systems.\nWork closely with Oracle databases, including data modeling, performance tuning, and schema evolution.\nSupport frontend teams when backend integration expertise is required.\nCollaborate with QA, DevOps, and Operations teams to ensure smooth delivery and production readiness.\nYOUR PROFILE\nMust-Have Skills\nExpert-level Java development with strong hands-on experience in Java 21, Jakarta EE, JPA/Hibernate, and Maven multi-module applications.\nSolid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and enterprise application design principles.\nExperience building and consuming REST and SOAP services using technologies such as JAX-RS and JAX-WS.\nStrong experience with Oracle databases, SQL optimization, schema design, and data persistence.\nExperience with messaging and integration technologies, including JMS and enterprise messaging platforms.\nStrong knowledge of testing practices using JUnit, Mockito, and integration testing frameworks.\nExperience with release management, deployment processes, and production support activities.\nAbility to lead technical discussions, make architectural decisions, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nStrong mentoring, coaching, and code review skills.\nAbility to balance hands-on engineering with technical leadership responsibilities.\nNice-to-Have Skills\nExperience with Angular, TypeScript, or modern frontend frameworks to support integration efforts when needed.\nKnowledge of OpenAPI Generator, API governance, and contract-first development approaches.\nExperience with Flyway and database migration strategies.\nFamiliarity with Splunk, OpenTelemetry, and observability best practices.\nExperience working with Docker-based local development environments.\nExposure to Kotlin and automated integration testing frameworks.\nExperience driving technical improvements, platform modernization, and engineering process enhancements.\nExperience working in Agile environments with distributed and cross-functional teams.\nWe arelooking forward to receiving your full job application through our online application tool.
