You will also manage the relevant tax processes in designated entities. You will report to the Senior Accountant.\nYou will\nHave full ownership of the Trial Balance of various entities including the management of all balance sheet accounts monthly, including tax, loans, accruals & prepayments. \nEnsure accurate and timely recording and reconciliation of financial accounts, including the salary, tax accounts and the maintenance of the fixed asset register.\nDo the monthly Journal review of your allocated entities. \nProvide commentary and insight into income statements and balance sheet movements monthly. \nLiaise with auditors and respond to audit requests on a timely basis.\nSupervise 3rd party service providers to ensure timely preparation of accounts.\nReview monthly calculations of statutory liabilities. i.e. WHT, VAT, PAYE, WCF and Pensions and ensure taxes are paid and filed timeously. \nAssist with Regulatory returns & compliance reporting. \nEnsure creditors, cashbooks and petty cash capturing is up to date and reviewed on a weekly basis. Ensure timely bank payments in the service entities.\nManage the accounts payable aging and process payments to ensure that suppliers are paid timeously. \nPrepare cash flow forecasts for your allocated entities.\nReview Annual Financial Statements for your allocated entities.\nYou will need\nAn accounting degree or relevant tertiary qualification. \nTo be a qualified CA(SA). \nA minimum of 2 - 3 years’ experience in a similar / general accounting role, within the financial services industry (including articles experience).\nExperience in working with foreign currencies and multi-territory entities.\nExcel experience, as well as accounting package familiarity.\nStrong reporting skills and attention to detail.\nTo show initiative and the ability to identify, initiate and drive process improvements.\nTo have the ability to self manage and work effectively under pressure.\nTo have the ability to adapt and work in a fast-changing environment.\nBonus if you have\nExposure to working with AI tools.\nExperience with tax, including withholding tax & VAT.\nExposure to Pastel. \nExperience accounting for Transfer Pricing transactions.\nA relevant Tax qualification.\nExperience working in a startup or growth environment.\nExposure to a Fintech and/or Technology business environment.\nEmerging market experience. \nExperience with consolidation.\nWe ask a lot of each other at JUMO, but we give a lot too.\nYou will love\nCollaborating with smart, engaging people in an inspiring work environment.\nWorking for impact.\nGrowing and learning continuously, with loads of encouragement and support.\nBoldly taking risks as we navigate new challenges.\nFlexible work practices enabling your best delivery.\nBeing autonomous and empowered to lead.\nRemote First\nYou will be based in South Africa.
