From colo design/implementation, to optimizing our exchange connectivity, to building world class low latent Wide Area Networks, we leverage research and automation to consistently adapt and innovate our infrastructure to scale and drive our trading and evolving business.\nAbout the Role\nOur technology operations internship is an intensive 10-week experience with our frontline technology teams that are responsible for managing, monitoring, and improving the real-time trading environment at Jump Trading.\nYou will be working directly with our experienced systems and network engineers, gaining broad technical and operational knowledge across all aspects of the trading platform and technology stack. Our internship program is the primary way we identify top young system engineers for our Technology Operations teams, paving the path toward earning full-time opportunities at Jump.\nWe are looking for bright and highly motivated individuals that want to grow their knowledge of systems and networking, understanding of modern trading at scale, and practical DevOps-based software engineering skills. \nWhat You'll Do:\nSystems Engineer interns will work with traders, operations, exchanges, and developers to optimize the trading environment and investigate and solve system issues.\nProactively monitor the overall health and performance of the trading platform\nWork closely with our world-class technology organization to:\nAnalyze and troubleshoot complex system, software, and networking infrastructure issues\nDesign, implement and optimize network infrastructure for proprietary low latency trading applications at various data centers throughout the world\nBuild automation to manage and improve the production trading environment\nWork closely with risk management and trading teams to coordinate changes and manage incidents\nManage and assess operational risk of change control into the production environment\nDefine and document process and procedure\nOther duties as assigned or needed\nSkills You'll Need\nMajor in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field\nExperience working with Linux/UNIX OS including advanced commands and shell scripts\nPractical working knowledge of python\nUnderstanding of networking concepts such as routing, multicast, ethernet\nA rigorous, detail-oriented approach to operations\nAbility to operate and communicate clearly under pressure\nDesire to work in a collaborative, team environment with a positive can do attitude\nReliable and predictable availability \n* No finance or economics study or work experience required\nThe estimated base salary for this role is $200,000-$250,000 per
