This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast paced start-up environment to help build out Juniper Square’s Fund Administration service offering. Juniper Square is on a mission to transform the Fund Administration offering to Private Markets. We are more than a Fund Administrator, we are a Modern Fund Administrator. As a Fund Accountant you will partner with the customer, other members of the fund accounting team, and Investor Services and Fund Administration Onboarding teams to deliver fund accounting and reporting services to Juniper Square’s Private Market customers in the Real Estate, Private Equity, and Venture Capital space. You will have a significant opportunity to shape the trajectory of our service offering and in so doing help to deliver a best-in-class experience to our customers. This is an opportunity to couple prior education and experience and to learn from some of the best talent in Private Markets.\nWhat you’ll do\nSupport major decisions regarding team buildout and operational policies and procedures\n\nDefine and support the implementation of fund administration workflows, applying best practices and process efficiencies\n\nIdentify product development opportunities, routing technical, product feedback to the product development teams\n\nAssist in training and managing a team of fund accountants\n\nInterface directly with clients to deliver an outstanding client experience\n\nServe as a technical accounting expert and key advisor on significant business/accounting decisions for the team\n\nReview and perform accounting, analytical, & financial reporting duties; ensure client and investor reporting is prepared and completed timely and accurately\n\nReview investor allocations used to generate investor statements, waterfall calculations and capital calls and distributions in accordance with clients’ Limited Partnership Agreements\n\nPrepare and review asset- and fund-level performance metrics (IRRs, TVPI, etc.)\n\nAssist in preparing, compiling, and verifying external client and regulatory reporting\n\nPrepare and review financial information for stockholders/investor reports\n\nAssist with annual audits, including preparation and review of the initial draft of the annual audit report and related schedules and disclosures; assist with PBC list (Prepared By Client) and tax returns\n\nResearch and assist in interpreting the impact of recent accounting developments\n\nQualifications\n4+ years of fund accounting or audit experience with exposure to Private Equity, Venture Capital, Private Credit and/or Real Estate funds\n\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.\n\nExposure to complex fund structures, waterfall calculations, performance metrics (IRRs), distributions and capital calls calculations\n\nExperience with annual reporting (audited financial statements)\n\nPassion for technology and a desire to use technology to improve business operations\n\nExperience scoping out system requirements and implementing new systems\n\nStrategic thinker with the ability to master both the details and the big picture\n\nAbility to handle many projects at once without losing track of the details\n\nComfortable with ambiguity, excellent work ethic and likes to take ownership of your work\n\nAt Juniper Square, we believe building a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture makes us a better company. The U.S. base salary range for this role is $110,000 - $125,000 USD and the Canadian base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $135,000 CAD. Actual base salaries will be based on candidate-specific factors, including experience, skillset, and location, and local minimum pay requirements as applicable.
