We also have physical offices in San Francisco, New York City, Mumbai and Bangalore for employees who prefer to work in an office some or all of the time.\nAbout your role\nAs Juniper Square continues to expand, our billing complexity has intensified, driven by a tripling of transaction and invoice volumes over the last 18 months. We are seeking a Senior Billing Specialist to join our team and help navigate this increased scale. In this hands-on role reporting directly to the Billing & Collections Manager, you will collaborate closely with team members to ensure invoice accuracy, manage daily cash application, and provide guidance on invoice processing within Zone.\nWhat you’ll do\nReview customer contracts and correspondence, interpreting ambiguous contract language to determine correct billing treatment\n\nProcess invoices and credit memos for complex or non-standard billing scenarios\n\nGuide and support teammates on invoice processing workflows within Zone\n\nReview invoices processed by the team for accuracy before sending out to customers\n\nRespond to customer billing inquiries via email, researching and providing accurate answers in a timely manner\n\nPerform daily cash application: match incoming customer payments to invoices and post accordingly\n\nOwn follow-up on past-due accounts, coordinating escalations with Fund Admin/CX as needed\n\nMonitor AR aging and flag at-risk balances to the Billing & Collections Manager\n\nPlay a key role in ongoing process improvements and workflow refinement within Zone (project-based work)\n\nManage increased workload during peak Fund Admin billing cycles (December, March, June, September)\n\nPartner cross-functionally with Deal Desk on contract structuring, and with Fund Admin/CX on billing and collections\n\nComfortable using AI tools to improve productivity and efficiency across billing, cash application, and reporting workflows\n\nQualifications\nAt least 4 years of professional billing experience, particularly with intricate billing scenarios\n\nProven capability to analyze vague contract terms and determine precise billing consequences\n\nPractical familiarity with Zone or equivalent NetSuite-native billing software, including the ability to train and guide team members\n\nProficiency in cash and payment applications, including matching and posting customer payments against invoices\n\nFamiliarity with Salesforce for navigating and extracting contract, account, and opportunity details\n\nAdept at utilizing AI productivity tools (such as ChatGPT and Claude) to enhance daily workflows\n\nBackground in collections is advantageous, though the primary emphasis remains on billing mastery\n\nCollaborative mindset with a strong emphasis on teamwork; comfortable guiding colleagues on workflows without needing a formal title\n\nStrong interpersonal skills to interact with cross-functional internal stakeholders and a proactive approach to asking clarifying questions\n\nPrior background in the Services and SaaS sectors is preferred.\n\nHighly resourceful with the capability to independently investigate and resolve questions when details are scarce.\n\nThrives and operates effectively within a high-speed, dynamic workplace.\n\nAdvanced proficiency in Excel, particularly utilizing calculations from the Fund Admin team, is a distinct plus.\n\nCompensation\nCompensation for this position includes a base salary, equity, and a variety of benefits. The U.S. base salary range for this role is $60,000 - $75,000 USD.
