You will lead several cross-functional teams through Team Leads and Engineering Managers and be responsible for people leadership, delivery excellence, and technical direction across a hybrid infrastructure.\nDepending on your background, you will take ownership of one of three core areas of the platform: the movement of client funds from deposit to withdrawal, the client journey from registration to full verification, or the systems that keep every balance accurate and protect client and company assets.\nResponsibilities\nLead and scale multiple cross-functional engineering teams (backend, frontend, infrastructure, mobile) through Team Leads and Engineering Managers, growing the area to up to 40 engineers\nOwn delivery, quality, and technical outcomes across your area, including cross-team initiatives and dependencies\nPartner with Product, Trading, and Senior Engineering leadership to shape the area roadmap and translate business requirements into technical execution\nDrive engineering processes across teams, including planning, estimation, CI/CD, code reviews, testing, and release management\nEnsure technical alignment, high availability, and observability of systems running on hybrid infrastructure, while balancing technical debt with delivery velocity\nHire, mentor, and grow Team Leads and Engineering Managers, run performance calibration, and own promotion decisions\nPlan headcount 1 to 2 years ahead, design team structure, and manage the area budget\nFoster a culture of ownership, customer focus, and result orientation\nRequirements\nAt least 7 years of professional software engineering experience with a strong backend background, ideally including hands-on Ruby\nAt least 3 years of experience as an Engineering Manager, including managing Team Leads or Engineering Managers\nProven experience leading an engineering organisation of at least 20 engineers across several teams\nProven experience in headcount planning, team structure design, and budget management\nBackground in financial systems, trading platforms, or other high-reliability domains\nSolid understanding of AWS, on-premise and hybrid infrastructure, CI/CD, deployment strategies, and observability tools\nUpper Intermediate English proficiency\nWill be a plus\nExperience building new teams from scratch and scaling an engineering organisation from one team to several\nExperience with low-latency or high-throughput systems\nHands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools\nWe offer\n20 paid vacation days per
