The ideal candidate has deep expertise in BrightScript, SceneGraph, and the full Roku application lifecycle from development through App Store deployment.\nKey Responsibilities\nArchitect, develop, and maintain high-quality Roku applications using BrightScript, SceneGraph, and modern Roku technologies.\nManage the Roku development lifecycle from concept to App Store release and ongoing maintenance.\nImplement Figma designs with high attention to UI/UX quality and detail.\nBuild reusable and custom SDK components for scalable application development.\nCollaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, QA, and Engineering teams to deliver features on time.\nTroubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications to ensure reliability and smooth performance.\nWrite clean, maintainable, and testable code with strong attention to edge cases and application stability.\nContribute to platform tooling, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and development best practices.\nStay up to date with OTT industry trends, emerging technologies, and modern development approaches.\nCore Requirements\n5+ years of professional software development experience.\n3+ years of commercial Roku development experience.\nStrong proficiency in BrightScript, SceneGraph, and modern Roku technologies.\nExperience working with Roku SDKs or SDK development in general.\nExperience managing Roku App Store build creation, submission, deployment, and release processes.\nExperience building extensible, data-driven Roku applications.\nStrong experience integrating APIs using REST, JSON-RPC, gRPC, WebSockets, or similar technologies.\nFamiliarity with Charles Proxy or similar debugging/network inspection tools.\nUnderstanding of monitoring, alerting, integration testing, and code coverage best practices.\nExperience working in collaborative, multi-developer environments.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English.\nAbility to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.\nNice-to-Have\nExperience managing or improving CI/CD pipelines and platform-specific tooling.\nPrevious experience working on large-scale OTT or streaming applications.\nFamiliarity with performance optimization for connected TV platforms.\nExperience contributing to internal SDKs or developer tooling.\nKnowledge of analytics, video playback, or ad integrations within Roku
