At Kalmbach Feeds our Maintenance Apprentices gain hands on experience thru highly diversified trainings which include installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining production facility equipment. Through the program you will gain the confidence to operate with a high level of autonomy as well as a positive and proactive approach to work. The successful candidate must work effectively with all departments, management, and employees. In this apprenticeship you will learn:\nTo repair, replace, remove, and/or modify manufacturing structures and equipment to correct feed manufacturing problems of a mechanical, electrical, and/or structural nature. \nTo maintain accurate daily records of all work performed daily in the computerized maintenance management system \nKnowledge of PLC \nTo wear a full-face respirator and pass pulmonary testing \nTo operate tow motors, pallet jacks, aerial man lifts \nTo assess, diagnose, and evaluate feed manufacturing problems of a mechanical, electrical, and/or structural nature. \nTo perform preventative maintenance (e.g. lubrication, inspection, etc.) for feed manufacturing structures and equipment. \nTo maintain work area, tools, parts, and equipment in a clean and organized manner for the purposes of safety, efficiency, and appearance. \nTo perform other related corrective maintenance functions or duties as needed. \nWho You Are:\nHold basic knowledge of Safety/OSHA \nActs at all times, in a manner that supports a respectful, cooperative, and positive work environment.\nMust hold or be actively working to obtain a high school diploma or equivalent\nAble to bend, reach, squat, lift and work at heights\nMust be able to lift 50 pounds minimum to relace motors, pumps, extruder screws, etc.\nCapable of basic computer skills (MS Office Suite)\nMust be able to work on raised platforms and high areas\nMust be able to work in a dusty environment \nMust having a valid driver’s license with no suspensions\nWilling to work outside in weather conditions\nHold basic knowledge of Safety/OSHA \nAbility to meet tight schedules and handle multiple assignments. \nAbout the Company:\nKalmbach Feeds offers the highest quality nutritional products for livestock, poultry, and companion animals.
