This is a highly hands-on role for someone who wants to own meaningful parts of the accounting close, improve processes, and help build the financial infrastructure of a rapidly scaling company.\nYou’ll work across the business to ensure transactions are recorded accurately, accounts are reconciled, and our financials are complete and audit-ready. As Kalshi continues to scale, you’ll also help strengthen controls, automate workflows, and build processes that can support increasing complexity and future public-company requirements.\nWhat You’ll Do\nOwn key areas of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process\n\nPrepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules\n\nEnsure transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with U.S. GAAP\n\nMaintain balance sheet accounts and proactively investigate and resolve discrepancies\n\nSupport preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting\n\nPartner with teams across the company to understand new products, transactions, and accounting implications\n\nSupport external audits and ensure schedules and supporting documentation are audit-ready\n\nHelp develop and maintain accounting policies, processes, and internal controls\n\nIdentify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting workflows\n\nSupport technical accounting analysis for new or unusual transactions as needed\n\nHelp build the accounting infrastructure required as Kalshi continues to scale\n\nWhat You Bring\n4+ years of accounting experience, ideally with a combination of public accounting and operating-company experience\n\nStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles\n\nExperience owning significant components of the monthly close\n\nStrong experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation\n\nAbility to independently investigate accounting issues and drive them to resolution\n\nHighly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to operate in a fast-moving environment\n\nComfortable working cross-functionally and translating business activity into accurate accounting treatment\n\nStrong Excel / Google Sheets skills\n\nCPA preferred\n\nExperience at a high-growth technology, fintech, financial services, or other complex business is a plus\n\nExperience supporting audits, implementing controls, or preparing a company for increased reporting requirements is a plus\n\nNYC Pay Transparency Disclosure:\nSalary Range: $120,000 to $175,000 annually plus equity and benefits.\nThis range reflects current market data for this role.
