We are looking for ambitious and exceptional people to join our (relatively small) team to help us build the next generation of financial markets.\n\nRole Roadmap\r\nWe’re looking for a seasoned, detail-oriented Technical Accountant to serve as a trusted expert on complex accounting issues and emerging business initiatives. You’ll lead the Company’s interpretation and application of U.S. GAAP, partner cross-functionally on high-impact projects, and ensure technical conclusions are accurate, well-reasoned, and thoroughly documented. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of accounting, strategy, and regulatory evolution, and who’s passionate about shaping accounting policy in a fast-growing environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\r\nTechnical Accounting Leadership\n\nLead the accounting evaluation for complex and emerging business initiatives, collaborating across teams to identify, assess, and resolve technical issues\n\nDevelop well-supported conclusions and high-quality technical memos that stand up to audit and regulatory scrutiny\n\nServe as a primary liaison with external auditors on technical matters, ensuring transparency and constructive dialogue\n\nAccounting Standards & Policy\n\nMonitor and interpret new accounting guidance from the FASB and other standard-setting bodies, evaluating potential impacts on financial statements\n\nLead implementation efforts for new standards and ensure consistent application across teams\n\nDevelop, document, and maintain company-wide accounting policies, updating them as business operations and regulations evolve\n\nCross-Functional Partnership & Projects\n\nPartner with Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Operations to ensure accounting considerations are integrated into business decisions\n\nSupport strategic initiatives and special projects, proactively identifying and addressing accounting implications.\n\nDrive continuous improvement in accounting processes, documentation, and internal controls\n\nQualifications\r\n\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting and active CPA (or equivalent certification)\n\n5+ years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and/or technical accounting roles\n\nStrong preference for experience in financial exchanges, clearing organizations, broker-dealers/FCMs, fintech, or high-growth technology environments\n\nDeep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ability to interpret, apply, and communicate evolving guidance across varied topics\n\nProven success influencing cross-functional teams and driving alignment across Accounting, Legal, Finance, and Compliance\n\nAnalytical, structured thinker with exceptional attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills\n\nA lifelong learner passionate about technical accounting, regulatory change, and continuous improvement\n\nOur Culture\r\nMeritocracy is at our core, and we value people who take ownership and figure (usually hard) things out.
