What will I be doing?
This is a senior, client-facing leadership role accountable for the strength of Kaluza's commercial relationships across Europe, starting with ENGIE. Reporting to the CCO, you'll own the commercial relationship strategy for the ENGIE account and work closely alongside Kaluza's delivery organisation as during the implementation phase as we rapidly transition into live service, representing the commercial and client voice. Specifically, you will:
Key Account Commercial Relationship Leadership
- Build and own the senior, long-term relationship with ENGIE France's executives and decision-makers, acting as Kaluza's most trusted advisor at every level of the client organisation.
- Serve as the direct commercial counterpart to ENGIE's Country Leads, developing a deep, commercially-minded understanding of ENGIE business priorities and translating that into a clear account strategy.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for ENGIE’s “in life,” representing Kaluza with authority and confidence, including in complex or high-stakes conversations.
- Lead commercial negotiations for renewals and expansions, working closely with Legal and Finance to structure deals that grow account value.
- Use Kaluza’s successes with ENGIE to accelerate growth in Europe with new clients.
ENGIE Oversight & Stakeholder Management
- Represent the commercial and client relationship perspective at StratCo and equivalent senior governance forums covering the France programme.
- Maintain a current, credible view of delivery progress, risk, and client sentiment, sufficient to brief the CCO and Executive Leadership Team accurately at any point.
- Build and maintain relationships with ENGIE stakeholders beyond the immediate programme, including commercial and business leadership, to ensure Kaluza's relationship with ENGIE is broader than the delivery relationship alone.
Account Growth & Retention
- Own retention and growth targets for the ENGIE account, identifying and driving upsell and cross-sell opportunities in partnership with Sales and Product.
- Manage account health and time-to-value metrics, intervening early where risk to renewal or satisfaction emerges.
- Build and maintain an account plan that sets a clear, proactive path to expansion, not just reactive account management.
- Represent the voice of the client internally, shaping Kaluza's roadmap and commercial offering based on what will drive the most value for ENGIE.
Delivery & Implementation Partnership
- Build a strong, close working partnership with the Client Delivery team, throughout the implementation phase, so that commercial considerations, client expectations, and account risk are reflected in delivery decisions as they happen, not after the fact.
- Maintain close working visibility of delivery during implementation, attending relevant governance and steering forums as the commercial voice, without owning delivery execution, migration accountability, or the programme team.
- Participate in the management of high-severity incidents affecting ENGIE, advocating for the client and guiding the response based on client-specific commercial considerations.
Account Strategy & Commercial Function Contribution
- Take a lead role in shaping Kaluza's broader account strategy for strategic enterprise accounts, working with a global team of Account Directors under the CCO to continuously improve how Kaluza runs strategic account management as a function.
- Bring practices, playbooks, and lessons from your accounts into that global function, and bring proven approaches from other markets back into ENGIE, so the account benefits from Kaluza's broader commercial capability rather than operating in isolation.
- Represent ENGIE and European accounts within the global Account Director community, ensuring a consistent Kaluza commercial approach without building or duplicating structure locally.
Executive & Cross-Functional Engagement
- Orchestrate Kaluza's Support, Services, and Product teams to maximise impact and client satisfaction across the ENGIE France relationship.
- Prepare and present regular commercial and account performance reporting to the CCO and wider Executive Leadership team.
- Act as a member of Kaluza's Client Advisory Board where relevant to the ENGIE relationship, helping shape it as a live proof point for how Kaluza partners with its most strategic clients.
About You
Ideally you'll have/be:
- 10+ years of experience in senior client account management, with a successful record of building and growing commercial relationships with enterprise or strategic accounts.
- 5+ years' experience ideally in B2B energy retail/utilities, with a deep understanding of the relevant technology needs and opportunities.
- Experience owning renewal and expansion targets, with the commercial acumen to negotiate deals that grow account value.
- Commercial contract management experience, including pricing and large-scale tender response leadership.
- Credibility engaging senior client stakeholders, including C-level executives such as ENGIE's programme Steering Committee , as a trusted advisor rather than a vendor contact.
- Understanding of the French and broader EU energy market, including relevant regulatory context.
- Comfort operating as the senior commercial voice within a delivery-led governance structure, respecting a clear boundary between commercial ownership and delivery execution.
- Skilled at facilitating alignment between business and technical teams.
- Working French language capability.
What will set you apart:
- A track record of managing large, complex accounts with proven upsell, cross-sell, and renewal results.
- Deep experience of working with French or European energy retail utilities, or a complex B2B sector.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and execute against shared strategic plans.
- Experience working with Executive Leadership teams and successfully influencing outcomes.
- Comfort acting as a clear, confident commercial voice inside a fast-moving delivery programme, without needing direct authority over delivery resourcing to be effective.
