We can’t offer visa sponsorship, but we review sponsorship role by role, so keep an eye on our careers site for future opportunities.\nAbout Kaluza\nKaluza is the Energy Intelligence Platform, turning energy complexity into seamless coordination. We help energy companies overcome today’s challenges while accelerating the shift to a clean, electrified future.\nOur platform orchestrates millions of real-time decisions across homes, devices, markets and grids. By combining predictive algorithms with human-centred design, Kaluza makes clean energy dependable, affordable and adaptive to everyday life.\nWith teams across Europe, Asia and Australia, and a joint venture with Mitsubishi Corporation in Japan, we power leading companies including OVO, AGL and ENGIE, as well as innovators like Volvo and Volkswagen.\nWhat you'll do\nThe Release, Environments and Change Engineer (REC Engineer) has three key areas of responsibility. You will operate Release, Environments and Change processes and procedures, and you’ll be involved in, and often lead, the identification and implementation of process improvements using AI and other tools.\nYou will work closely with the REC Manager and Environments Manager and operate the processes they define. These processes may rely on manual activities and controls at first, so you’ll take a leading role in replacing them with appropriate automation, and then identify mechanisms and methods to govern those automated controls.\nYou will collaborate with Enablement teams and engineering teams across Kaluza to make sure processes are understood, embedded and followed. You’ll be a decision maker with the authority to decline or postpone releases and changes, and you’ll handle client communication where approval is required for a change or release.\nOperating promotion gates, making promote or block decisions between environments in line with contractual and ways-of-working agreements, and escalating high-risk calls.\nFacilitating change approvals, release Go/No-Go meetings and release trains, preparing releases against readiness criteria and tracking per-team readiness and environment-deployed status.\nUsing AI-assisted checks to confirm quality gates are met, summarise what changed in a release, score change risk and flag incomplete or stale records, applying your own judgment to improve the reliability of the results.\nMaintaining complete, accurate change and configuration records, keeping every change traceable across the full environment stack, and managing the change and release calendar.\nBuilding and maintaining release automation, including readiness checks, artefact promotion, AI-drafted release notes and notifications, and reporting feeds.\nWorking with engineering teams in real time to roll back failed releases or apply fixes, and coordinating with incident and problem management so planned changes, hotfixes and major incidents stay in sync.\nCommunicating changes and releases internally and externally, supporting environment coordination and validation, running post-implementation reviews and retros, and giving operational input into gate definitions and the wider process.\nWhat you’ll bring \nStrong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to juggle multiple moving parts and spot incomplete records or inconsistencies.\nClear communication and strong facilitation skills, comfortable coordinating across teams, leading check-ins, keeping everyone aligned, driving decisions and chasing things through to completion.\nThe confidence to say no and hold the line when something isn’t ready, and to escalate when you’re unsure.\nComfort with Jira (or similar), including configuring boards, workflows and tickets.\nScripting and automation skills to build and maintain the automation around a release process (readiness checks, artefact promotion, release notes and reporting), plus familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated testing into deployment workflows.\nDay-to-day use of AI tooling with a critical eye, catching what it gets wrong rather than waving it through.\nExperience building or integrating AI agents (e.g. LangChain, AutoGen, custom frameworks, MCP-based tooling), with an understanding of prompt engineering and LLM evaluation techniques such as faithfulness, relevance and LLM-as-a-judge, since traditional pass/fail assertions don’t translate well to testing AI agents.\nWhat will set you apart\nAny exposure to how software gets released or how environments work, even informally.\nLight scripting or automation experience, or the appetite to learn it.\nA calm head under time pressure.\nOur Values\nFive values guide how we work at Kaluza:\nPlay to win: Collective pride in decarbonising energy at scale.\nSolve the real problem: Cutting through complexity to focus on real-world outcomes.\nBuild trust every day: Consistency, transparency and doing what we say.\nOwn the outcome: Full accountability, wins and setbacks, without ego.\nGo further together: Collaboration, respect and different perspectives.\nOur Perks\nTime off and family: 26 days’ holiday, plus 26 weeks’ full pay for new parents with no qualifying service period\nHealth and security: Private medical insurance with virtual GP, life assurance, pension scheme, free mortgage advice and eye tests\nPay and flexibility: Discretionary bonus, a Flex Fund of 5% [of salary] to spend on the benefits you want most, retail discounts through Perks at Work\nGrowth and setup: Personal learning budget, home office budget\nClimate: Furthr, our climate action app\nCome as you are\nWe want to meet people from all walks of life. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be, and we recognise talent on merit and potential. If you’re excited about the role but don’t tick every box, we’d still love to hear from you.\nFind out more on ourcareers page andLinkedIn.
