We provide an award-winning cloud platform that helps tens of thousands of accounting professionals work more efficiently and collaboratively every day. With customers in 40 countries, we have grown into a globally distributed team across the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the Philippines. We are well-funded, ranked #1 on G2, growing rapidly, and have a people-first culture that is recognized with Great Place To Work® certification and on Fortune magazine's Best Small Workplaces™ List.\nAbout the Role\nWe're looking for a Product Designer to lead complex design initiatives and play a critical role in shaping high-quality, customer-centered experiences across Karbon's product.\nAs an individual contributor, you'll operate with a high degree of autonomy, defining problems, exploring solutions, and delivering well-crafted designs end-to-end. You'll partner deeply with Product and Engineering, influence standards and quality beyond your own work, and help elevate the overall design practice.\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn Experience end to end: Partner with Product and Engineering to define the problem space. Use LLMs to clarify intent, draft briefs, pressure-test assumptions, and surface edge cases and risks before committing to a direction.\nPrototype to set direction: Use AI-assisted tools to build and iterate on flows and lightweight interfaces quickly. Let AI accelerate the generation while you guide structure, behavior, and craft. Partner with engineers to decide what moves into the product.\nValidate with customers early: Talk directly with customers, run quick tests, and use what you learn to adjust direction. Treat research as a velocity tool, not a gate.\nRefine in Figma: Translate validated concepts into designs with complete state coverage, system alignment, and production readiness.\nDesign for the platform: Move complexity under the hood so that experiences feel effortless for customers. Encode design judgement into decisions and principles that our people and tools can follow. Drive our craft forward with patterns, prompts, and an attention to detail that compounds over time.\nWhat We're Looking For\n3-5+ years of experience in product design, ideally within B2B SaaS or complex product environments\nStrong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design thinking, interaction design, visual craft, and problem-solving across complex systems\nProven ability to work autonomously on ambiguous problems and drive work forward with clarity and ownership\nActive use of LLMs in your design workflow, for problem framing, research synthesis, prototyping, or iteration, not just awareness of them\nComfort using AI-assisted development tools to build and iterate on concepts, even without writing production code\nExcellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience partnering closely with Product and Engineering\nComfort balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution\nExperience contributing to or working within established design systems\nPassion for high-quality, customer-centered design and continuous improvement\nBonus:\nExperience designing for vertical SaaS, professional services, or accounting-adjacent products\nExperience designing AI-enabled product experiences\nWhy Work at Karbon?\nGain global experience across the USA, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Canada and the Philippines\n4 weeks annual leave plus 5 extra \"Karbon Days\" off a year\nFlexible working environment\nWork with (and learn from) an experienced, high-performing team\nBe part of a fast-growing company that firmly believes in promoting high performers from within\nA collaborative, team-oriented culture that embraces diversity, invests in development, and provides consistent feedback\nGenerous parental leave\nPlease be aware that Karbon will only contact you via email from our domain, karbonhq.com. If you receive an email from any other domain, please do not click any of those links.\nKarbon embraces diversity and inclusion, aligning with our values as a business. Research has shown that women and underrepresented groups are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single criteria. If you've made it this far in the job description but your past experience doesn't perfectly align, we do encourage you to still apply. You could still be the right person for the role!\nWe recruit and reward people based on capability and performance. We don’t discriminate based on race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, lifestyle, age, educational background, national origin, religion, physical or cognitive ability, and other diversity dimensions that may hinder inclusion in the organization.\nGenerally, if you are a good person, we want to talk to you.\nIf there are any adjustments or accommodations that we can make to assist you during the recruitment process, and your journey at Karbon, contact us at for a confidential discussion.\n At this time, we request that agency referrals are not submitted for this position. We appreciate your understanding and encourage direct applications from interested candidates.
