KarmaCheck is a company specializing in reimagining the background check process for organizations. It offers the fastest turnaround times, enhancing competitive advantage in talent acquisition by streamlining the screening process. KarmaCheck's unified platform integrates thousands of sources for checks, providing real-time tracking and status updates.

KarmaCheck is the leader in modern background checks and screenings for the staffing industry, pushing the boundaries of workflow automation. Our customers work in ATS, VMS, and HRIS platforms which utilize our integrations and API to run screening, verification, and credentialing workflows without switching systems.

We are building an AI workforce: agents that automate the compliance workflows our customers run. Those products reach their full value when they show up inside the systems our customers already use. Building an agent in our own dashboard is the first half of the work. Getting it into Bullhorn, Symplr CTM, Workday, or a customer's proprietary system is the unlock.

This role owns that unlock, alongside additional workflow automation development, and the day-to-day integration products our customers depend on. The ideal hire can commit to working Eastern Time (EST).

The surface you would own

  • Pre-built ATS, HRIS, and HCM integrations: Bullhorn, where KarmaCheck selects required checks based on job placement specifications and writes completed screenings back to the candidate record. KarmaCheck is the only background check integration in Bullhorn's investment portfolio. Symplr CTM, where teams order screenings, sync candidate data, and download completed documents directly from the candidate profile. Workday, delivering background check history, status updates, and results into the candidate's Workday record. WIth additional integrations existing and to come.

  • Service and technology partners: An ecosystem spanning VMS and direct sourcing providers, currently including Conexis, Simpliant, Bridge, Shiftrx, Livehire, Renhead, and Opus Match, supported by revenue-share and referral programs.

  • Public API: An API-first architecture where customers have access to the same calls we use thousands of times a day, with a deliberately broad endpoint surface, customer-mapped data fields, automated consumer report delivery, and support for most ATS, HRIS, HCM, and VMS platforms as well as homegrown systems.

  • What you will own

  • Taking what we build to market, technically. This is the part of the job that makes it more than integration creation and maintenance. As we release AI agents and new screening products, you own how they reach customers inside their own systems: what the integration story is for each one, which partner surfaces it needs to land on, what has to change in the API or the partner integration to support it, and how a customer actually turns it on. You will work in tandem with the product managers driving AI and new product development.

  • Integration product and partnerships. Ongoing ownership of the Bullhorn, Symplr CTM, and Workday integrations, the partner ecosystem, and whatever we take on next. You will define what integrating with KarmaCheck means: which data flows, how statuses map, how errors surface, what we standardize and where we accommodate a partner's model. You will work directly with partner product and engineering teams and own the roadmap for each integration rather than treating it as a one-time build.

  • Customer-facing implementation and scoping. You will be in front of customers regularly: integration discovery and solutions on new deals, scoping sessions during implementation, and the calls where a customer describes a workflow we do not yet support. Enterprise deals in healthcare staffing almost always hinge on an integration, and you will be the product voice in those conversations.

  • API and developer experience. Our public API and documentation are part of the product and often the first thing a technical buyer evaluates. You will own how they evolve in partnership with engineering: endpoint and webhook design, versioning and deprecation, error semantics, sandbox and testing experience, and documentation quality.

  • Support for Implementation and Support teams. Configuration and tooling that let Implementation stand up an integration without engineering involvement, clear enablement for Support, and a discipline of turning recurring issues into roadmap items rather than repeat manual fixes. The goal is that each launch requires less of Product and Engineering than the one before it.

  • The requirements we're looking for

  • 5+ years in product management, with meaningful time owning integrations, APIs, or platform products
  • Integration experience across multiple different systems. We care more about the breadth of patterns you have seen than about any one platform. If you arrive with strong instincts about how integrations should be built, mapped, versioned, and supported, you will be useful on day one
  • Direct experience owning partner or API integrations as an ongoing product rather than a project. You have made standardize-versus-accommodate calls and lived with the consequences
  • Genuine comfort in front of customers, including when the goal is to sell. You will demo products, communicate value, and position our capability from a place of strength with technical buyers and operations leaders, then stay with that customer through discovery, scoping, and implementation. Much of what moves deals in this business is carried by product people, and you will be one of them.
  • Technical fluency to work directly with engineers on APIs, webhooks, data models, and error handling. You do not need to be an engineer, but you should never need a translator
  • Ability to turn input from customers, partners, and internal teams into clear, written, prioritized requirements
  • Comfort working with external partner teams, including the diplomacy of influencing a roadmap you do not control
  • Helpful, and learnable here

  • Healthcare staffing, background screening, credentialing, or compliance. Domain depth matters in this business, but we would rather hire strong integration instincts and ramp the domain than the reverse
  • Credentialing or verification experience, particularly locum tenens/physicians, which is a direction we are moving
  • Familiarity with ATS, VMS, HCM, or HRIS ecosystems such as Bullhorn, Symplr, or Workday
  • Developer experience or API product work
  • Experience bringing AI or automation features into third-party systems
