Our high-performance solutions are engineered to operate in the most extreme environments and meet precise mission requirements.\nThe Quality Engineer supports product conformity, safety, and continuous improvement by maintaining quality processes, conducting audits, driving corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with customer and industry requirements. The role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to uphold quality standards and strengthen quality assurance activities throughout the product realization process.\nResponsibilities\nMaintains and implements AS9100 procedures and supports continuous improvement efforts.\nProvides training to support customer satisfaction, first-time quality, and on-time delivery.\nReviews and maintains internal quality planning.\nOversees and verifies corrective action activities.\nPerforms shop traveler reviews.\nConducts internal audits and prepares for external audits.\nSupports manufacturing with inspection and engineering needs, including configuration management and build processes.\nReviews purchase orders to ensure quality requirements are properly incorporated.\nPrepares and submits nonconformance data.\nInvestigates and responds to internal corrective actions.\nPrepares customer data packages and other required quality submittals.\nInterfaces with suppliers and supports issue resolution.\nPerforms vendor source inspections as required.\nBuilds strong quality assurance processes focused on quality at the point of manufacture.\nProvides floor assembly support and evaluates potential impacts of product failures.\nRequired Qualifications\nFour-year degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.\nExperience in quality control or quality assurance in a manufacturing environment, or related training.\nExperience implementing or managing ISO quality systems.\nDetail-oriented, organized, and able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management.\nWorking knowledge of ISO9001:2000 and AS9100 (current revision).\nKnowledge of customer and supplier audits, specifications, and processes.\nAbility to conduct formal training on changes and customer requirements.\nUnderstanding of Quality Management System (QMS) reporting, record keeping, and process adherence.\nPhysical Requirements\nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.\nAbility to lift up to 15 pounds.\nSpecial Mentions\nNo travel is required for this position.\nThis position requires U.S. person status under U.S. export control laws, including U.S. citizens and nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees.\nBenefits\nMedical, dental, and vision insurance\n401(k) with company match\nPaid time off\nHealth Savings Account (HSA) with company contribution\nFlexible Spending Accounts (FSA)\nCompany-paid life and AD&D insurance\nShort- and long-term disability coverage\nTuition reimbursement\nKarman Space and Defense is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
