You will leverage AI coding tools, including Claude Code, throughout the software development lifecycle, including system understanding, solution design, implementation, testing, debugging, code review, documentation, and modernization efforts. \nRoles & Responsibilities \nDesign, develop, test, deploy, and support Java-based services, APIs, and distributed applications \nLead technical implementation of medium-to-large engineering initiatives within a product area \nParticipate in architecture and design discussions and contribute to technical decision-making \nRemain hands-on through coding, troubleshooting, code reviews, testing, and production support \nLeverage AI coding tools such as Claude Code to improve development efficiency and software quality \nApply AI-assisted techniques for code generation, testing, debugging, documentation, and codebase exploration \nHelp establish best practices for responsible use of AI-generated code \nContribute to modernization of legacy systems through refactoring, automation, and AI-assisted development workflows \nCollaborate with Product, Engineering, Security, and Architecture teams to deliver scalable solutions \nSupport cloud-native architectures, microservices, integrations, and shared platform capabilities \nDrive improvements in performance, reliability, observability, security, and maintainability \nMentor Software Engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and collaborative development \nEvaluate new technologies and engineering practices that can improve product quality and team productivity \nDesign, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that automate build, testing, security scanning, deployment, and release processes \nPartner with DevOps and platform teams to improve deployment reliability, release velocity, and developer experience \nPromote engineering best practices around continuous integration, continuous delivery, infrastructure automation, and release management \nDrive adoption of automated quality gates, test automation, and deployment validation within software delivery pipelines \nRequired Qualifications \n7+ years of software engineering experience building SaaS applications, distributed systems, or enterprise platforms \n4+ years of experience developing backend services using Java \nStrong coding skills with demonstrated experience designing, implementing, debugging, and supporting production software \nExperience leading significant technical projects or major features from design through production \nExperience building and operating systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP \nExperience with code reviews, software design, testing strategies, and engineering best practices \nDemonstrated experience using AI-assisted coding tools as part of software engineering workflows \nAbility to leverage AI effectively for development, testing, debugging, documentation, and productivity improvements \nStrong understanding of software engineering fundamentals and ability to validate and improve AI-generated code \nStrong communication and collaboration skills \nExperience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in modern software development environments \nStrong understanding of continuous integration, continuous delivery, automated testing, release automation, and deployment best practices \nExperience with source control and CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar technologies \nPreferred Qualifications \nHands-on experience with Claude Code or similar AI coding tools \nExperience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate, Kafka, or similar technologies \nExperience with cloud-native, microservices-based, or event-driven architectures \nExperience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle \nExperience contributing to modernization or migration initiatives \nExperience improving observability, testing, reliability, and operational excellence \nExperience integrating AI-enabled capabilities, LLMs, agents, or AI services into software products \nFamiliarity with modern AI engineering concepts such as LLM APIs, tool use, agents, RAG, evaluation, and prompt engineering \nExperience implementing CI/CD pipelines for microservices and cloud-native applications \nExperience integrating security scanning, quality gates, automated testing, and observability into deployment pipelines \nExperience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools \nWhat Success Looks Like \nA successful Senior Software Engineer at Kaseya does more than deliver code.
