We build it.\nPosition Summary\nKaseya is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our engineering team and build scalable, reliable backend services for our applications. This role will focus on developing backend solutions using .NET and Microsoft Azure, with an emphasis on API design, performance, security, and cloud integration.\nThe Senior Backend Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain backend services while contributing to architectural decisions, database optimization, and engineering best practices. Working closely with frontend, DevOps, and product teams, this individual will help deliver high-quality solutions, improve system reliability, and support the evolution of our cloud-based applications.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop, maintain, and optimize backend services and RESTful APIs using .NET, C#, and related technologies.\nDesign and deploy backend solutions on Microsoft Azure, ensuring scalability, high availability, security, and performance.\nContribute to architectural decisions, data modeling, and API design to build efficient and maintainable solutions.\nCollaborate with frontend engineers, DevOps, and product teams to deliver new features and improve existing functionality.\nDesign, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases, including query performance and data integrity.\nWrite clean, modular, and maintainable code, participate in code reviews, and promote engineering best practices.\nImplement logging, monitoring, and alerting to identify performance issues and improve service reliability.\nMaintain technical documentation covering backend processes, API specifications, and infrastructure.\nRequired Qualifications\n5+ years of backend development experience, including at least 3 years working with the .NET ecosystem.\nStrong proficiency in C#, .NET Core/.NET 5+, and SQL Server, including database design and query optimization.\nHands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, and Azure DevOps.\nExperience designing and developing RESTful APIs, with a solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, branching strategies, automated testing, and deployment workflows, along with strong problem-solving and communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB or MongoDB.\nFamiliarity with Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.\nKnowledge of caching mechanisms, including Redis and Azure Cache.\nUnderstanding of cloud security best practices and secure application development.\nExperience working in
