We build it.\nPosition Summary\nKaseya is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our SaaS Backup engineering team and help build the next generation of our backup storage platform. Kaseya’s SaaS Backup products protect Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Salesforce data for hundreds of thousands of businesses worldwide. This role will contribute to the development of a unified, cloud-agnostic storage platform designed for reliability, scalability, and performance at scale.\nThe Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain reliable backend services across the backup and restore pipeline. Working closely with Staff and Principal Engineers, this individual will contribute to technical design discussions, implement SaaS integrations, and take ownership of well-defined platform components while growing their technical autonomy and expertise.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain reliable backend services using Go to support the backup and restore pipeline.\nBuild and maintain SaaS connectors integrating with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Salesforce APIs, including authentication, pagination, incremental synchronization, and error recovery.\nDevelop scalable, cloud-agnostic platform capabilities to support high-volume data processing and reliable backup storage.\nWrite and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests, prioritizing correctness, reliability, and maintainability throughout the development lifecycle.\nParticipate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical design sessions in collaboration with Staff and Principal Engineers.\nTake ownership of assigned components, including implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance.\nInvestigate, debug, and resolve production issues within areas of responsibility to maintain service reliability and performance.\nCollaborate with DevOps and other engineering teams on deployments, monitoring, operational readiness, and on-call support.\nContribute to engineering best practices that improve code quality, system observability, and overall platform performance.\nRequired Qualifications\n5-8 years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on backend development.\nProficiency in Go (Golang), or strong proficiency in another backend programming language with the ability and willingness to adopt Go as the primary language.\nExperience developing and operating backend services on cloud infrastructure, such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure.\nFamiliarity with Kubernetes and containerized application deployment.\nWorking knowledge of SQL databases and API development or integration using REST and/or gRPC.\nStrong understanding of software testing principles, including unit and integration testing, with an emphasis on writing tests alongside implementation.\nExperience troubleshooting software defects and resolving production issues in distributed or cloud-based environments.\nStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers across different levels of technical expertise.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience integrating with SaaS APIs, such as Microsoft Graph, Google Workspace APIs, or Salesforce Bulk API.\nFamiliarity with message queues and asynchronous processing technologies, such as Kafka, Amazon SQS, or similar solutions.\nExperience with cloud object storage services, including Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage (GCS), or Azure Blob Storage.\nExperience building data-intensive, distributed, or infrastructure-adjacent backend systems.\nFamiliarity with designing systems for scalability, reliability, fault tolerance, and efficient data processing.\nInterest in technical growth and progressing
