Participate in contracted client analytical programs as a member of Analytical and Formulation Sciences (AFS) in the cell-based assay (CBA) team. Perform analyses and evaluate data from bioassays, including cell-based assays and ELISAs.\nResponsibilities:\nRegularly exercises technical discretion in the execution and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project goals.\nMakes detailed observations and carries out elementary data analysis.\nUnderstands experiments and conducts troubleshooting analysis.\nMaintains and updates knowledge of instrumentation.\nNotebook upkeep and writing skills.\nMaintains familiarity with current scientific literature; maintains professional expertise through familiarity with scientific literature.\nAssures proper labeling, handling, and storage of all chemicals used in the area; assures proper labeling and disposition of hazardous waste in satellite areas; adheres to all safety requirements and follows safe procedures, and attends all required safety and health training, including handling hazardous waste.\nReacts to change productively and handles other essential tasks as assigned.\nPerforms 96-well cell-based assays with absorbance, luminescent, or fluorescent readouts, requiring experience with plate readers and flow cytometers, as well as curve fitting software.\nMaintains multiple cell lines concurrently with no cross-contamination or microbiological contamination, requiring familiarity with aseptic technique and cell passaging and banking.\nRequirements:\nB.S. degree and 7 years of related experience; M.S. and 5 years of related experience or Ph.D. in a scientific discipline.\nAble to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.\nAdheres to all safety requirements and assures that departmental employees comply with required safety procedures.\nDemonstrated expertise in cell-based assay analytical techniques\nGood oral presentation and technical writing skills\nAble to record (accurately, clearly, and consistently) information, facts, and measurements that are required by cGMP, GLP, GCP, and/or by co-workers to understand situations and to perform their assignments \nUnderstanding of biotherapeutic regulatory requirements and expectations\nStrong communication skills\nSalary: $86,000-$115,000\nKBI Biopharma, Inc. is an EEO/AA employer and actively seeks to diversify its work force.
