In this role, you will support general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance initiatives across a complex and dynamic organization. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of compensation-related accounting transactions, supporting audit requirements, and maintaining the integrity of financial records.\nTrinzic is being established as an independent public company through the planned separation of KBR's Mission Technology Solutions business, which is expected to be completed on January 4, 2027. This role offers a rare opportunity to join the organization during a pivotal period of growth and transformation, helping build and support payroll accounting, financial compliance, and operational processes that will position the company for long-term success while serving critical government and commercial missions around the world.\nKey Responsibilities\nMaintain general ledger accounts related to employee compensation, benefits, and payroll activities, ensuring transactions are recorded in accordance with company accounting policies and applicable regulations.\nPrepare and post payroll-related journal entries, including wages, taxes, benefits, accruals, and other compensation-related transactions.\nPerform monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliations of payroll accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.\nPerform balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure payroll-related transactions are accurately reflected within the general ledger and financial statements.\nSupport payroll month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met with a high degree of accuracy and completeness.\nSupport accounting and reconciliation activities related to payroll taxes, employee benefits, accrued compensation, and other employee-related liabilities.\nPartner with Payroll, Human Resources, and Finance teams to ensure accurate accounting treatment of employee compensation, benefits, bonuses, and equity-related transactions.\nSupport internal and external audits by preparing required documentation, schedules, and supporting analyses.\nEnsure adherence to internal controls, SOX compliance requirements, and corporate governance standards related to payroll accounting processes.\nAnalyze account activity, identify financial variances and trends, and prepare supporting schedules and analyses for management reporting.\nSupport financial system implementations, process improvements, testing activities, and controls validation related to accounting operations.\nIdentify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and enhanced controls to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.\nContribute to a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence within the finance organization.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.\n2+ years of accounting experience including journal entries, account reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and month-end close responsibilities. Experience supporting payroll accounting activities is preferred.\nUnderstanding of general accounting principles, accrual accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting requirements under US GAAP. Experience with payroll accounting is preferred.\nExperience preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and supporting month-end close activities.\nExperience preparing balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining general ledger accounts, and supporting financial reporting activities.\nUnderstanding of compensation-related accounting transactions, payroll accruals, and employee-related liabilities.\nDemonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\nHigh level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis tools.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.\nEffective communication skills with the ability to explain payroll and accounting information to various stakeholders.\nProven ability to collaborate cross-functionally across Payroll, HR, Finance, and other business functions.\nSelf-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Costpoint, Workday, Ceridian Dayforce, ADP, UKG, SAP, Oracle, or similar payroll and ERP systems.\nExperience supporting multi-state and/or international payroll accounting activities.\nFamiliarity with government contracting environments and payroll requirements under FAR, CAS, and related regulations.\nExperience supporting SOX compliance, internal controls, and external audit activities.\nCPA, CPA candidate, or progress toward a professional accounting certification preferred.\nDemonstrated success driving process improvements, automation initiatives, and reporting enhancements within payroll accounting functions.\nExperience working in a large, complex, matrixed organization supporting multiple business units.\nAdditional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
