We Deliver - Together.\nProgram Summary\nThe National Science Foundation (NSF) manages the United States Antarctic Program (USAP). The USAP supports all U.S. scientific research and related logisticsin Antarctica and aboard USAP vessels that operatealong the continental margin and in the Southern Ocean. Science within the Antarctic research portfolio is chosen and funded by NSF and other Federal agencies, including NASA, NOAA, and the Department of Energy. The purpose of the Antarctic Science and Engineering Support Contract (ASESC) is to enable that science.\nAll participants are responsible formaintaininga safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority. This includes compliance with all ASESC environmental health & safety, and quality assurance requirements.\nJob Summary\nThe Network Systems Packet Lead willoversee thetransitionofall program network systemsincluding,network operations, email, system access and security, user support, and the service deskassociated with the Antarctic Science and Engineering Support Contract (ASESC). This role leads the collection, organization, validation, and transfer of network systems information to ensure continuity of mission-critical communications and IT operations by collaborating with network engineers, system administrators, operations personnel, and transition leadership to facilitatea seamless and compliant transition of network services and infrastructure.This position will play a critical role inlayingthe foundation every otherfunction relies on, with the added challenge of constrained satellite bandwidth.\n*This is a remote position based in the US.\nRoles and Responsibilities\nLead the development, organization, and management of Network Systems transition packets supporting transition objectives\n\nCoordinate the collection, review, validation, and transfer of network-related documentation, configurations, diagrams, inventories, procedures, and operational records\n\nCollaborate with network engineers, system administrators, and subject matter experts to document current-state network architecture, services, and operational processes\n\nTrack transition deliverables, milestones, risks, action items, and dependencies associated with network systems\n\nEnsure network documentation is complete, accurate, current, and maintained in accordance withestablished document control practices\n\nSupport the transfer and validation of network inventories, configuration baselines, asset records, maintenance histories, and support documentation\n\nAssistin documenting network monitoring, incident response, cybersecurity, and continuity-of-operations procedures\n\nFacilitate communication and coordination between network teams, transition personnel, and cross-functional stakeholders\n\nPrepare transition reports, status updates, metrics, and briefings for leadership review\n\nBasic Qualifications\nU.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation.\n\nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology,Computer Science, Network Administration, Telecommunications, Engineering Technology, or a related field\n\n5+ years of experience supporting network operations, telecommunications, information technology, systems administration, or related technical functions\n\nExperience organizing, maintaining, or managing technical documentation and records\n\nStrong organizational, project coordination, and documentation management skills\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\n\nStrong attention to detail and ability to maintainaccuraterecords and tracking systems\n\nAbility to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple functional areas\n\nProficiencywith Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting enterprise network infrastructure, telecommunications systems, or IT operations\n\nKnowledge of network operations, systems administration, communications infrastructure, cybersecurity practices, or IT service management\n\nExperience supporting government contracts, transition efforts, mobilizations, or operational readiness programs\n\nKBR Benefits\nKBR offers a selection of competitive lifestyle benefits which could include 401K plan with company match, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D, flexible spending account, disability, paid time off, or flexible work schedule.
