If you’re ready, let’s get started.\nThe KBR team of teams delivers future-forward science, technology and engineering solutions and mission-critical services that help governments and companies around the world accomplish their most important objectives, while also helping achieve their sustainability goals.\nAbout the Role\nKBR is seeking a Construction Manager to support the successful delivery of complex engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects within its infrastructure and energy portfolio.\nThis role is responsible for leading site-based construction activities, ensuring alignment with project execution plans, contractual obligations, and client requirements from mobilisation through to final handover.\nOperating as a central point of coordination across multidisciplinary teams, the Construction Manager integrates engineering, procurement, and construction functions to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes within defined schedule and budget constraints.\nThe position requires active engagement with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders while maintaining consistent oversight of performance, compliance, and risk.\nThrough structured planning, detailed reporting, and effective communication, the role ensures construction activities are executed efficiently and in accordance with industry standards.\nResponsibilities\nLead and manage all on-site construction activities across assigned projects, ensuring alignment with approved execution strategies and project objectives\n\nOversee contractors and subcontractors to ensure work is performed in accordance with specifications, schedules, and quality standards\n\nMonitor project progress against milestones, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions to maintain delivery timelines\n\nEnsure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and regulatory requirements across all site operations\n\nReview and approve construction methodologies, work plans, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems\n\nCoordinate closely with engineering, procurement, and project controls teams to ensure seamless integration of project phases\n\nManage cost performance by tracking expenditures, supporting budget control, and contributing to forecasting and reporting activities\n\nFacilitate communication between clients, consultants, and site teams, providing regular updates on project status and key deliverables\n\nLead site inspections, quality assurance processes, and resolution of technical or operational issues during construction execution\n\nExperience Required\nEssential\nSignificant experience managing construction activities on large-scale EPC or infrastructure projects\n\nProven experience overseeing subcontractors and multi-disciplinary site teams\n\nDemonstrated experience managing project schedules, budgets, and cost control activities\n\nSMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification\n\nDesirable\nExperience working on energy, utilities, or major infrastructure programmes\n\nFamiliarity with project management tools such as Primavera P6 or equivalent scheduling software\n\nExperience within a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) or client-side environment\n\nTechnical Skills/Knowledge\nExperience interpreting construction drawings and technical specifications\n\nExperience managing construction activities on EPC projects\n\nExperience using Primavera P6 or equivalent project scheduling tool\n\nExperience managing construction schedules and cost performance\n\nQualifications/Certifications\nEssential\nBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline\n\nValid CSCS card or equivalent site certification for construction management roles\n\nSMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification\n\nDesirable\nChartered status or membership with the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) or equivalent professional body\n\nNEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification\n\nLocation\nReading/Bristol/Plymouth - hybrid working with a mix of office-based and remote working.\nSecurity Requirements\nSC Clearance\nDue to the secure nature of this project, restrictions in relation to UK residency and nationality will apply\nKBR Benefits & More\nBelong.
