This role involves developing test plans, conducting assessments under realistic conditions, and ensuring compliance with security and operational standards. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate system resilience and recommend mitigation strategies. Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage complex testing activities under time-sensitive conditions are essential. This position offers the opportunity to influence vulnerability testing methodologies and enhance system security across enterprise operations. This role is performed full-time on site at a government facility and is contingent upon contract award\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nDevelop detailed vulnerability test plans and procedures for mission-critical systems.\nExecute operational vulnerability tests under simulated and real-world conditions.\nAnalyze test results, identify system weaknesses, and recommend corrective actions.\nEnsure compliance with organizational security standards and regulatory requirements during testing.\nCollaborate with engineering and security teams to integrate vulnerability findings into system design improvements.\nPrepare comprehensive technical reports and briefings for stakeholders.\nSupport readiness reviews and contribute to risk assessment activities.\nParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives for vulnerability testing processes and tools.\nProvide technical guidance to junior engineers during test execution and analysis.\nRequired Qualifications:\nEducation & Experience:Master’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience with demonstrated expertise; OR\nBachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience with demonstrated expertise; OR\nNo degree and 10 years of relevant experience with demonstrated expertise.\n\nExperience in vulnerability testing, penetration testing, or operational security assessments.\nFamiliarity with security compliance frameworks and risk management methodologies.\nProficiency in using vulnerability assessment tools and test management systems.\n Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with adjudicated polygraph\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrior experience conducting vulnerability tests in mission-critical or defense environments.\nAdvanced knowledge of cybersecurity principles, system hardening techniques, and exploit mitigation strategies.\nExposure to automated testing tools and scripting for vulnerability analysis (e.g., Python, Bash).\nBasic Compensation:\n$155,300 - $189,800\nThis range is for the Virginia area only\nThe offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.\nAdditional Compensation:\nKBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
