The role will also involve review and checking of fabrication, detailing and erection drawings to ensure compliance with the structural design intent, applicable codes, project specifications and constructability requirements, technical coordination with Detail Engineering Contractor, Fabricators and resolving shop/site issues related to structural engineering / detailing.\nResponsibilities:\nStrong knowledge of structural analysis and design principles,\nKnowledge of Fired Heaters / Reformers / Cracker Structural systems.\nProficiency in STAAD.Pro for structural modelling, analysis and design.\nFamiliarity with 3D modeling / review software like S3D, E3D, Navisworks and SPR\nGood working knowledge of International codes for Structural Design like ASCE/UBC/AISC/Euro Codes/ IS Codes.\nGood understanding of codes used in Furnace Engineering & Stack Design like API 560, API530, ASME STS-1\nGood understanding of wind, seismic, operating, thermal, piping, equipment, erection and maintenance loads applicable to furnace structures.\nKnowledge of base plate, anchor bolt and structural connection design.\nUnderstanding of structural requirements associated with lifting, sea / road transportation and erection of large furnace modules/components.\nAbility to interpret mechanical, piping and furnace-layout information and incorporate the associated loads and interfaces into structural design.\nCoordinate with Mechanical, Furnace, Piping, Civil, Refractory and Fabrication /Construction/Erection teams.\nProvide structural engineering support during procurement, fabrication and site erection.\nReview of Vendor/Fabricator documents and drawings where structural engineering input is required.\nSupport resolution of technical queries arising during fabrication and erection.\nQualifications including Required Education, Experience, & Skills:\nBachelor/master’s degree in civil/Structural Engineering / Mechanical Engineering\nApproximately 10-15 years of Furnace Structural design experience in an EPC company, Furnace/Heater Company or Engineering Consultancy.\nHands-on experience of Structural design of different types of FiredHeaters.
