These efforts require highly skilled technicians to support assembly, integration, production, testing, maintenance, and operational deployment of complex laser systems and their associated power and thermal management subsystems.\nJob Summary\nThe High Energy Laser Systems Technician will play a critical role in the assembly, integration, production, testing, troubleshooting, and field support of advanced HEL weapon systems. This hands-on position supports the development and deployment of laser technologies by working directly with laser hardware, power distribution equipment, thermal management systems, electrical and mechanical assemblies, instrumentation, and supporting subsystems.\nThe technician will collaborate closely with engineers, production personnel, test teams, and program leadership to ensure HEL systems are built, integrated, tested, maintained, and fielded safely and effectively. This position requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to support laboratory, manufacturing, and field operations.\nRoles and Responsibilities\nAssemble, integrate, and maintain High Energy Laser system hardware and associated subsystems.\n\nSupport production and manufacturing activities, including hardware builds, inspections, configuration management, and process documentation.\n\nInstall, route, terminate, and troubleshoot electrical wiring, cable assemblies, connectors, and subsystem interfaces.\n\nAssemble and integrate power distribution, power conditioning, energy storage, and thermal management equipment supporting HEL operations.\n\nPerform system-level and subsystem-level integration activities for laser, power, cooling, controls, and support equipment.\n\nExecute test procedures and supportdevelopmental, qualification, acceptance, and operational testing activities.\n\nOperate test equipment and instrumentation to collect, record, and document system performance data.\n\nTroubleshoot electrical, mechanical, thermal, and laser system issues and support root-cause investigations.\n\nPerform preventative and corrective maintenance on laboratory, production, and fielded equipment.\n\nSupport environmental testing, field demonstrations, customer events, and operational exercises.\n\nAssist engineers with hardware modifications, system upgrades, prototype development, and technical documentation.\n\nEnsure compliance with safety procedures, laser safety requirements, quality standards, and program operating procedures.\n\nTravelasrequired to support system integration, field testing, customer demonstrations, and deployment activities.\n\nBasic Qualifications\nAssociatesdegreein Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, Laser/Electro-Optical Technology, or related technical discipline and a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience supporting complex electrical, mechanical, or electro-mechanical systems.\n\nIn lieu of degree a high school diploma and 6 years of experience is required.\n\nExperience performing hardware assembly, system integration, troubleshooting, and testing activities.\n\nExperience working with electrical systems, power distribution equipment, thermal management systems, cooling systems, or industrial equipment.\n\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, assembly instructions, and technical documentation.\n\nExperience using electrical and mechanical test equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and diagnostic tools.\n\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve hardware and system-level issues.\n\nAbility to work in laboratory, manufacturing, and field environments.\n\nExcellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.\n\nU.S. Citizenship required and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting High Energy Laser, directed energy, electro-optical, aerospace, or defense systems.\n\nFamiliarity with laser safety requirements and laser laboratory operations.\n\nExperience with power generation, power conditioning, energy storage, or high-voltage electrical systems.\n\nKnowledge of thermal management systems, chillers, pumps, heat exchangers, and liquid cooling equipment.\n\nExperience supporting manufacturing, production, low-rate initial production (LRIP), or depot-level sustainment activities.\n\nPrior military experience supporting electrical, weapons, radar, aviation, communications, or mission systems.\n\nExperience supporting field testing, customer demonstrations, or operational military exercises.\n\nActive DoD Secret orTop Secretclearance.\n\nDemonstrated ability to work independently while supporting engineers, program managers, and government customers.\n\nKBR Benefits\nKBR offers a selection of competitive lifestyle benefits which could include 401K plan with company match, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D, flexible spending account, disability, paid time off, or flexible work schedule.
