This role is well suited for an HR professional who can balance daily HR operations with opportunities to advise leaders, address organizational challenges, and support business success.\nThe HR Business Partner serves as a trusted resource for employees and managers, offering guidance across HR disciplines while supporting the day-to-day execution of HR processes and programs. Under general direction, the selected candidate applies specialized knowledge and judgment to resolve complex or unique issues, support team activities, establish priorities, interpret internal and external factors, and help develop best practices. They will demonstrate curiosity, sound judgment, and a commitment to growing their strategic partnership capabilities over time.\nKey Responsibilities:\nHR Operations and Service DeliveryManage routine HR processes and transactions with accuracy, responsiveness, and attention to detail using tools including Workday.\nSupport employee lifecycle activities including policy administration, onboarding, compensation and classification reviews, and other operational HR responsibilities.\nEnsure HR programs and processes are implemented consistently and effectively.\nRespond to employee and manager inquiries while maintaining a high level of customer service.\nIdentify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the employee experience.\n\nLeadership and Employee CoachingProvide day-to-day coaching and support to managers on performance management, employee development, classification and compensation, communication, and team effectiveness.\nHelp leaders build high-performing teams aligned with the company's vision, mission, values, and strategic priorities. \nEncourage employee growth and career development by connecting individuals with appropriate development opportunities and resources.\nSupport change management and organizational initiatives through effective communication and leadership support.\n\nEmployee Relations and InvestigationsManage employee relations matters, including performance concerns, workplace conflict, policy interpretation, and corrective action processes.\nConduct workplace investigations and support the resolution of complex employee relations issues with guidance from HR leadership as needed.\nCoach managers and employees through challenging situations while balancing business needs, employee experience, and organizational risk.\nPromote a fair, consistent, and positive employee experience.\n\nBusiness Partnership and ConsultationPartner with managers and employees to understand business needs, workforce challenges, and opportunities for organizational improvement.\nProvide practical HR guidance and recommendations that support both employee success and business objectives.\nDevelop consultative skills by working with leaders to address people-related challenges and implement effective solutions.\nBuild credibility and trusted relationships with leaders and employees across the organization.\nIdentify opportunities to strengthen team effectiveness, employee engagement, and organizational performance.\n\nWork Environment:\nLocation: Hybrid\nTravel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%\nWorking Hours: Standard\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant experience is acceptable in lieu of degree.\n5-8 years of progressive Human Resources experience with exposure to multiple HR disciplines.\nExperience supporting managers and employees in a generalist, HRBP, or employee relations-focused role.\nDemonstrated proficiency in IT skills encompassing fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).\nPossess critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze situations, weigh available options, and identify the best course of action.\nDemonstrated ability to build relationships and provide HR guidance in a business environment.\nExperience handling employee relations matters and participating in workplace investigations.\nStrong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to manage administrative and operational HR responsibilities while maintaining a broader business perspective.\nDemonstrated interest and aptitude in developing consultative and business partnership capabilities.\nAbility to adjust schedule to support employees across all time zones, with a sense of urgency and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.\nAble and willing to work a hybrid schedule in an office environment at least three days per week.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrevious experience in a large engineering or professional services business.\nDoD (Department of Defense) experience.\nExperience working with large-scale HR Information Systems such as Workday.\nExperience with / knowledge of Davis Bacon or Service Contract Act populations.\nCompensation and classification working knowledge, including FLSA and other state and federal wage and hour laws.\nPossess emerging digital fluency with a strong interest in using AI-powered tools, automation platforms, and HR technologies to improve workflows, increase productivity, and support organizational objectives.\nSHRM-CP or HRCI PHR/SPHR certification in Human Resources Management\nScheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week.\nBasic Compensation:\n$93,000.00 - 140,000.00 (this range is for the Colorado area only).\n$102,000.00 - 154,000.00 (this range is for the California area only).\nThe offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.\nAdditional Compensation:\nKBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
