Engineering Delivery\nProvide overall discipline leadership for CSE execution across FEED, Detailed Engineering, PMC, EPF and Technology Licensing projects.\nEnsure engineering deliverables meet project requirements for quality, schedule, budget, safety and technical integrity.\nEstablish effective discipline execution, resource and workshare strategies for major projects.\nMonitor project performance and facilitate resolution of critical technical, resource and inter-discipline issues.\nDrive engineering productivity, schedule predictability and reduction of rework.\nEnsure effective integration with Process, Piping, Mechanical, Electrical and other engineering disciplines.\n2. Discipline Leadership & Technical Governance\nProvide unified leadership and direction to the CSE function across India.\nEstablish common engineering practices, standards, procedures and performance expectations while supporting different business and execution models.\nLead and develop discipline managers, engineering leads, technical authorities and senior specialists.\nMaintain an effective Technical Authority / Subject Matter Expert framework for critical areas.\nEnsure appropriate engineering assurance, technical reviews and resolution of complex or high-risk technical issues.\nEnsure compliance with company practices, project/client requirements and applicable international codes and standards.\n3. Engineering Across Business Models\nProvide appropriate functional and technical leadership across the different engineering delivery models:\nFEED, Detailed Engineering & PMC\nEnsure robust design basis, engineering philosophies, specifications and deliverables suitable for project execution.\nSupport PMC activities through technical assurance, contractor reviews and resolution of significant engineering issues.\nPromote scalable execution and workshare approaches for major domestic and international projects.\nEPF\nEnsure effective integration of engineering with procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning.\nFacilitate timely resolution of vendor and execution-related technical issues.\nImprove engineering maturity and constructability to minimize downstream changes and rework.\nTechnology Licensing & Basic Engineering\nEnsure CSE design basis, philosophies and requirements clearly capture process and licensor design intent for subsequent EPC execution.\nEnsure appropriate definition of instrumentation requirements, control philosophies, safeguarding strategies and control system architecture.\nWork closely with Process and Technology teams to ensure operability, controllability, safety and optimization are embedded at the design stage.\nProvide technical support and clarification during detailed engineering, execution and commissioning, as required.\n4. Resource & Capacity Management\nOwn India-level CSE manpower planning, capacity forecasting and deployment strategy.\nOptimize resource utilization, competency mix and workload across projects and business requirements.\nFacilitate cross-deployment of resources and specialist expertise based on project priorities.\nWork with Projects, Operations and HR on manpower forecasting, recruitment and resource planning.\nDevelop appropriate strategies to manage peak workload while maintaining delivery performance and technical quality.\n5. People, Capability & Succession\nBuild and sustain a high-performing and technically strong CSE organization.\nEstablish competency requirements and identify current and future capability gaps.\nDevelop technical specialists, Subject Matter Experts, engineering leads and future managers.\nDrive capability development in instrumentation, control systems, functional safety, automation, digital engineering and emerging technologies.\nEstablish succession plans for critical technical and leadership positions.\nPromote knowledge sharing, employee development, engagement and retention.\n6. Digital Engineering & Continuous Improvement\nDrive adoption of digital, automated and data-centric engineering practices.\nPromote effective use and integration of engineering systems, databases and project information platforms.\nEncourage automation and reuse of validated engineering data to improve productivity and quality.\nChampion appropriate application of AI and emerging digital technologies in engineering workflows.\nDrive standardization, lessons learned and continuous improvement across the discipline.\n7. A Master’s degree or relevant professional qualification would be advantageous.\nExperience\nMinimum 20 years of relevant experience in Control Systems & Instrumentation Engineering within energy, process, refining, petrochemical, chemical or related industries.\nSignificant experience in senior engineering leadership roles managing large and/or geographically distributed teams.\nStrong experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering, with exposure to PMC, EPC/EPF and Technology Licensing / Basic Engineering environments.\nExperience in major international projects and global engineering workshare models.\nDemonstrated capability in engineering delivery, resource management, technical governance, capability development and stakeholder management.\nBelong.
