We can only consider applicants with the right to live and work in the United Kingdom\nJob Title: Lead Accountant (Project Accounting)\nBased in Leatherhead\nResponsible For:\nWorking within the KBR Cost & Profit Team, and closely with the client and wider project team. Responsible for performing advanced and moderately complex accounting activities related to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant managerial reports; financial statements; and client invoice, requiring a high degree of accuracy. Responsible for reconciling and analysis of complex balance sheet accounts. Attempts to maximise value through an understanding of operational costs, expenses and the impact of decisions on the bottom line.\nKey Accountabilities:\nTo carry out month end activities and assist to close out the period. This will include a detailed review of all costs for onward billing to the client\nWork closely with the various project teams to produce an accurate forecast on the project\nReview timesheet bookings to ensure accuracy of hours and codes\nUnderstand project policies and procedures pertaining to expenses and assist with any expense policy updates\nTo assist in producing monthly Application for Payment (AFP)\nTo raise monthly invoice to client\nAssist with monthly client Cost Assurance\nTo help facilitate monthly financial reviews with operations.\nTo implement and monitor internal financial controls SOX/FCPA.\nRegularly review cost against budget, actively seeking ways to save costs / areas to improve\nWorks within allocated budgets and resources\nRegularly reviews processes which have a financial impact\nParticipates in the setting of forecasts and plans\nQualifications:\nQualified or studying towards ACMA, ACA or ACCA with 3 to 7 years’ experience in project accounting environment.\nEssential:\nAt least 3 years’ experience in project accounting environment.\nAbility to interact at all levels within local operation and Head Office up to Senior A&F Lead level.\nAbility to step in for the immediate Supervisor as and when necessary.\nGood IT skills with proficiency in Excel and Word\nKnowledge of US GAAP/SOX/FCPA desirable\nAbility to deal with vendors and clients.\nAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlines.\nPersonal Qualities:\nGood written and oral communications, including technical proficiency in financial and management accounting.\nTeam worker with good interpersonal skills and flexible approach.\nAble to work on own initiative with little or no guidance from immediate Supervisor.\nProactive and action orientated.\nDue to the nature of our work and security requirements, KBR does not offer sponsorship for this role.
