We solve obsolescence issues by providing engineering expertise in the following areas: reverse engineering, design engineering, prototyping, additive manufacturing, technology insertion, nondestructive inspection, test plan development and execution, allowing our customers to keep legacy systems in operation during the later stages of their lifespans.\nJob Summary\nThis position will support our Tinker AFB customers allowing systems such as the B-52, B-1, KC-135 and others to remain operational. With increasing experience, the employee will be responsible for increasingly complex modifications and modernizations to these aging systems. Engineering expertise should include the ability to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering methods, techniques, and criteria to a variety of complex technical problems. This includes interpreting project requirements, conducting detailed analyses, and developing practical, efficient solutions in alignment with industry best practices and organizational goals.\nRoles and Responsibilities\nDevelop detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks, ensuring compliance with both industry standards and internal company design guidelines.\nPerform reverse engineering of obsolete airborne and ground-based systems to support system sustainment, upgrades, or replacement efforts.\nTroubleshoot mechanical or electromechanical systems using root cause analysis tools and methodologies.\nWrite and review technical documentation relating to users, systems, standards, processes, operations, products, and services.\nCollaborate with project management, manufacturing, and engineering teams to support project planning, scheduling, and milestone tracking.\nWork in lab spaces to facilitate or support fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical products.\nRoles and responsibilities will vary based on candidate’s experience.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or similar degree) from an ABET accredited school\nUS Citizen\nAbility to obtain a security clearance\nPreferred Qualifications\nMinimum of two (2) years’ experience in a related field.\nEngineer in Training Certificate or Licensed Professional Engineer\nProficient with SolidWorks and GD&T application\nExperience with Cameo Systems Modeler\nExperience with ANSYS or other Finite Element Analysis software\nExperience with military standards and processes\nSkilled at written and oral communication\nBelong, Connect and Grow at KBR\nAt KBR, we are passionate about our people and our Zero Harm culture.
