By joining KBR, you become part of a team that works together, shares common values and is united in delivering great outcomes.\nThe Opportunity\nWe are seeking an experienced ICT / Operational Communications Systems (OCS) Engineer to join our growing Electrical Infrastructure team, delivering some of Australia's most significant rail, defence and transportation projects.\nThis is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with experience in communications and systems engineering to contribute to the design, integration, and delivery of ICT and Operational Communications Systems that support safe, reliable, and efficient transport operations.\nWorking within multidisciplinary project teams, you will support the delivery of communications systems across the full project lifecycle, from planning and design through to testing, commissioning, and handover. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced technical specialists while further developing your engineering, systems integration, and stakeholder management capabilities.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport the design, integration, and delivery of ICT and Operational Communications Systems (OCS) for transportation infrastructure projects.\nPrepare engineering designs, technical specifications, reports, calculations, and project documentation.\nAssist in the delivery of communications systems including CCTV, PA/VA, Passenger Information Systems, Help Points, Operational Networks, Fibre Infrastructure, and Wireless Communications.\nCoordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support system integration and interface management activities.\nContribute to systems engineering processes including requirements management, verification, validation, testing, and commissioning.\nAssist with the preparation of design packages, technical submissions, and engineering deliverables.\nParticipate in design reviews, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.\nSupport compliance with relevant standards, safety requirements, quality processes, and client specifications.\nContribute to problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives throughout project delivery.\nBuild effective working relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.\nMaintain awareness of emerging communications technologies and industry trends relevant to transport infrastructure projects.\nAbout You\nYou are an enthusiastic and capable ICT or Operational Communications Systems engineer with experience working on infrastructure, telecommunications, transport, or systems engineering projects. You enjoy collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, solving technical challenges, and delivering quality engineering outcomes.\nYou are looking to further develop your technical expertise in transport communications systems while contributing to complex and rewarding infrastructure projects.\nWhat You Bring\nExperience delivering ICT, communications, telecommunications, operational technology, or systems engineering solutions.\nExposure to transport infrastructure, rail, metro, road, aviation, utilities, or similar infrastructure environments.\nUnderstanding of Operational Communications Systems and associated technologies.\nKnowledge of engineering design processes and technical documentation requirements.\nFamiliarity with systems engineering principles, requirements management, testing, and commissioning activities.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within project teams.\nAbility to manage competing priorities and deliver work to agreed deadlines.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering documentation tools.\nDegree qualification in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, ICT Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.\nAs a function of the work that we do, it is a key requirement that you are an Australian citizen and either hold or are eligible for, security clearance with the Australian Defence.\nDesirable\nExperience working on rail, metro, light rail, road tunnel, airport, or other major infrastructure projects.\nFamiliarity with Australian transport authority requirements and industry standards.\nExposure to systems assurance, cybersecurity, RAMS, or integration activities.\nWorking towards Chartered Engineer (CPEng) status or other professional accreditation.\nWhy Join Us?\nYou will have the opportunity to contribute to some of Australia's most complex and transformative transportation projects, working alongside industry-leading professionals in a collaborative and innovative environment.
