These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.\n**This role may be based in either our Bangalore or Chennai office**\nRole Overview\nWe are seeking an experienced Offshore Structural Department Manager to lead and manage our offshore structural engineering discipline across global operations.\nThis role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of structural engineering solutions across offshore oil & gas, marine, and energy transition projects.\nYou will serve as the technical authority for offshore structural engineering while providing governance, leadership, and strategic direction across all activities-including topsides, jackets, floating systems, and associated infrastructure -aligned with KBR’s engineering management systems, project requirements, and industry standards.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. Department Leadership & Strategy\nLead and develop the Offshore Structural Engineering Department across global execution centers\nEstablish and continuously improve structural engineering standards, procedures, and best practices in line with KBR management systems\nAlign departmental strategy with business growth objectives and project delivery goals\nSupport capability development and strengthen offshore positioning for future projects\n2. Technical Authority & Governance\nAct as the technical authority for offshore structural engineering\nEnsure compliance with:International codes and standards\nProject specifications and contractual requirements\nKBR Engineering Management Systems and procedures\n\nApprove design philosophies, methodologies, and key technical decisions\nEvaluate and approve deviations from standards where required\n3. Project Delivery Oversight\nOversee delivery across all project phases:Pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed Engineering, and PMC\n\nEnsure execution of:Topsides structures (process modules, living quarters, bridges)\nJackets and substructures\nFloating systems (FPSO and offshore platforms)\nStructural modelling, analysis, and weight engineering\n\nEnsure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards\nDrive seamless integration with multidisciplinary teams\n4. Resource & Capability Management\nPlan, recruit, and manage offshore structural engineering resources\nDevelop competency frameworks and structured training programs\nBuild a high-performing global delivery team leveraging multi-location talent\n5. Proposal & Estimation Support\nLead structural engineering inputs for bids and proposals\nProvide:Manhour estimates\nProject scheduling inputs\nTechnical solutions and value engineering proposals\n\nSupport business development and winning strategies\n6. Quality Assurance & Technical Audits\nEnsure compliance with KBR Quality Management Systems\nLead discipline audits and technical reviews\nDrive continuous improvement and implement lessons learned\n7. Stakeholder & Interface Management\nCollaborate with:Project Engineering Managers and discipline leads\nClients and engineering partners\nFabrication yards and construction teams\n\nEnsure strong coordination across disciplines (Mechanical, Piping, E&I, Marine)\n8. Digital & Engineering Systems\nPromote adoption of digital engineering and 3D modelling practices\nEnsure effective use of structural analysis tools (e.g., SACS, SESAM)\nMaintain integrity and consistency of engineering data\nKey Deliverables\nStructural engineering deliverables across the full project lifecycle\nDepartment resourcing and competency development plans\nEngineering compliance and audit reports\nProposal estimates and technical documentation\nContinuous improvement and knowledge-sharing initiatives\nQualifications & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)\n20+ years of offshore structural engineering experience\nBelong.
