These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.\nKBR is seeking a Principal Piping Designer / Site Lead to serve in a hybrid role that combines advanced piping design responsibilities with site leadership duties. The position is expected to be approximately 90% focused on piping design activities and 10% dedicated to site lead responsibilities, providing technical oversight, coordination, and support for field execution activities.\nThe successful candidate will independently apply advanced engineering design techniques, make decisions on complex engineering design challenges, and represent the organization in meetings and discussions to resolve critical technical issues or coordinate with engineers, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders. As the primary design resource, this individual will develop and review piping designs, ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to other designers.\nIn the Site Lead capacity, the candidate will serve as the on-site point of contact for design-related matters, supporting construction and operations teams, facilitating communication between project stakeholders, coordinating design issue resolution, and helping ensure project objectives are achieved safely, efficiently, and on schedule.\nThis role requires a high degree of technical expertise, independent judgment, and leadership. The individual will be consulted extensively by project teams and management, with significant reliance placed on their technical interpretations, recommendations, and problem-solving abilities. Through both design excellence and site leadership, this position contributes directly to project success and overall value creation.\nThis position is located at a client site in La Porte, TX. No relocation or per diem will be offered.\nFunctional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:\n Aid in developing piping discipline design schedules and updating regularly\nWork to meet any and all deadlines as required by project schedules\nPerform fieldwork, pulling measurements, locating tie-ins, as-building existing systems, etc. develop detailed scopes\nCreate new and/or revise existing 2-D MicroStation drawings (P&ID’s, arrangements, sections, details, supports, diagrams\nCreate arrangements, plans and isometrics using 3-D software\nAssemble design packages (for piping/mechanical portion) including scope of work, transmittal, drawings, vendor information, and E3D generated bill of materials (pipe, pipe components, fasteners, gaskets, and pipe supports).\nWork from P&ID's, client specifications and vendor data to design complex piping systems for a chemical facility\nConduct design reviews for construction, maintenance, and operations personnel using 2-D drawings and E3D 3-D software\nEnsure completed design is functional, maintainable and designed with safety and that all applicable codes have been followed and maintained\nInterface with other disciplines\nWork with Construction as needed during the installation of the project.\nReview work of team members within pipe design\nReview project design estimates and work scopes for new projects .\nRequired Education, Experience, & Skills:\n Minimum of 5 years of PDMS/E3D experience\nMinimum of 8 years of piping design experience\nProficient in MicroStation and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) preferred\nGreat communication skills and ability to lead project reviews\nAbility to work within a multidisciplinary design team\nField experience is preferred.\nCandidate must be able to:\nStand or sit for periods of up to 4 hours\nIn case of an emergency wear a 5 minute escape pack, carry app. 8 lb. bottle of air to an evacuation point and then if necessary, carry the bottle while walking app. 10 minutes to an alternate evacuation point\nClimb stairs and ladders\nDecarbonization - Energy Transition - Sustainability\nKBR Benefits\nKBR offers a selection of competitive lifestyle benefits which could include 401K plan with company match, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D, flexible spending account, disability, paid time off, or flexible work schedule.
