These Quality Engineers will support the development and implementation of mission assurance requirements over the entire project life cycle. These Quality Engineers will also focus on supplier surveillance and inspections. This position will monitor processes for compliance to the developer’s procedures and contractual requirements.\nProcesses to be reviewed prior to use and monitored when used may include:\nPrinted Circuit Board quality assessment\nWorkmanship including coatings\nSoldering\nESD controls\nClean room activities and controls\nCable and harness fabrication\nContamination control\nParts and materials control\nControl of drawings and procedures\nEquipment moves (e.g. slings, cranes, and hydro sets)\nHazardous operations\nContractor responses to corrective action requests\nBuild records\nDelivery, storage and transport of flight and non-flight hardware, and critical ground support equipment (GSE)\nResponsibilities:\nEnsure that flight hardware anomalies, corrective actions, and re-verifications are documented in accordance with the contractors’ non-conformance and corrective action system\nParticipate in production planning, review manufacturing flow plans and participate in Manufacturing and Test Readiness Reviews (MRRs and TRRs)\nExamine process design and/or process qualification records, procedure review, work order review, and verifying that labs carry required certifications\nReview flight hardware records and ensure all open items are identified and addressed prior to the performance of tests\nMonitor contractor quality and safety controls, and participate in quality assurance activities during fabrication, integration, and tests\nQAR monitoring\nSupport activities related to root cause corrective actions\nSupport processes for collecting and analyzing data that measures supplier success\nReview the supplier’s CDRL documents related to quality assurance and provide recommendations\nReview flight hardware records for completeness prior to integration & final acceptance testing\nPerform a final instrument “buy-off” review\nComplete thorough inspections\nEducation, Experience, & Skills:\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.\n10 + years Quality Engineering experience\nPrevious NASA or aerospace industry experience\nGMIPS for Electronic Boards\nPre-cap inspection of hybrid microcircuits\n100% of solder joints prior to conformal coating of each flight printed wiring assembly prior to conformal coating.\n100% of conformal coatings on flight printed wiring assemblies.\nFinal workmanship inspection prior to box level final closure prior to integration into the next level of assembly.\nConnector mates to mission hardware integrated into the spacecraft.\nGeneral workmanship quality prior to final acceptance testing\nGeneral workmanship prior to shipment\nConfirm shipping packaging conforms to requirements and is adequate\nExperience and/or education in lieu of these qualifications may be considered.\nPreferred Training:\nIPC J-STD-001xS (Soldering, Space Addendum)\nNASA-STD-8739.1 (Staking and Conformal Coating)\nNASA-STD-8739.4 or IPC/WHMA-A-620xS (Crimping, Cables & Wiring)\nDeveloper-specific ESD Control training or training traceable to ANSI/ESD S20.20 (Electrostatic Discharge)\nNASA-STD-8739.6 (Workmanship Implementation Standard)1\nPre-cap inspection methods derived from MIL-STD-883\nExperience with harness work on NASA projects and be able to pass NASA Workmanship classes and prove expertise executing NASA Workmanship requirements.\nAdditional Compensation:\nKBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
